The Minnesota Vikings fully expect their franchise running back Adrian Peterson to be 100% recovered from the two torn ligaments in his left knee by the the 2012 season rolls around. Peterson tore both his ACL and MCL when he was hit in the side of the knee by Washington Redskins safety DeJon Gomes in Saturday’s 33-26 win at Washington. Yes, I know that was just BRUTAL to watch. An MRI revealed the ligament tears and meniscus damage. Minnesota Vikings head trainer Eric Sugarman says Peterson will undergo surgery sometime in the next week and a half. He says AP is looking at a eight-to-nine-month recovery. That timetable means he’ll be 100% likely by the middle of the next NFL preseason. The Vikings have been “out of it” for so long this season that who knows how much AP would have played this week anyway; even if he were healthy.
