Saints linebacker and former Miami star Jonathan Vilma says it's unfortunate that accusations against his former college team are being ''brought up from a guy who's in jail.''
Vilma says he has ''no reaction at all'' to allegations made by imprisoned Miami booster Nevin Shapiro, who claims he provided players with cash, prostitutes, cars and other gifts from 2002 to 2010.
Vilma says he's focused on the Saints' season, doesn't want to be distracted by Shapiro's claims, and will let the NCAA ''do what they have to do'' in their investigation of the matter.
A Yahoo! story about Shapiro showed him and Vilma together in a photo. Vilma says it's unnecessary to ''go back and forth with someone who's in jail and try to explain yourself.''
