After acquiring Tavaris Jackson on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills decided to release Vince Young.
Young was signed by the Bills in the offseason after backing up Michael Vick with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011. He had the edge to win the No. 2 job until his recent struggle in a 38-7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday. Young threw two interceptions, one coming on his first pass attempt. He finished 12 of 26 for 103 yards.
Since the 2006 NFL draft, when the former Texas Longhorn quarterback was picked third-overall by the Tennessee Titans, Young has slowly fallen apart. He looked promising after leading the Titans to the AFC playoffs in 2007. Unfortunately, his career began to decline after a knee injury and a benching by coach Jeff Fisher the following season.
Young is now a free agent and will be looking for another chance with a team that needs quarterback help.
