The 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame class has been announced and some big names finally made, while some others did not. Chris Carter, finally got in and breaks up the log jam of receivers who include Tim Brown, and Andre Reed, that were struggling to get in.
He’ll be joined by Bill Parcells, who according to reports required the longest debate about his deservedness. Warren Sapp and former Ravens offensive tackle Johnathan Ogden were elected their first time on the ballot.
The Senior Committee had two nominees, Curley Culp and Dave Robinson elected also.
Former Cowboys road grader Larry Allen was also elected today. Some of the more notable players who did not make the cut this year were running back Jerome Bettis, wide receiver Andre Reed, defensive ends Michael Strahan and Charles Haley and cornerback Aeneas Williams who were eliminated in the vote from 10 to the final five.
Linebacker Kevin Greene, wide receiver Tim Brown, guard Will Shields and owners Ed DeBartolo Jr. and Art Modell were eliminated in the voting from 15 to 10.
