The NFL Draft is still a week away but that hasn't stopped the Washington Redskins from showing quarterback Robert Griffin III some love. Washington traded with the St. Louis Rams for the number two overall pick in this seasons NFL Draft and have made it clear they like Baylor's Heisman winning quarterback Robert Griffin III. Griffin has already spent time going over the Redskins playbook with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in Waco, Texas.  He signed autographs on Redskins memorabilia for fans in Washington, and was given the ultimate treatment on his trip to the capitol. Don Banks of SI.com asked Griffin if he would be disappointment if the Redskins didn't draft him at the No. 2 spot.  Here is what he said: "I don't know how I'd feel about that, because I've continually said no matter where I go I'll be happy and excited,'' Griffin said. "But when you talk about the fanfare and the fan hype right now, I think it would be very disap...

Will rant cost Gaffney his job?

Last week, Jabar Gaffney (or someone hacking Jabar Gaffney) went on a Twitter rant for the ages, and now he feels that his roster spot in Washington is in jeopardy.

DeAngelo Hall flirts with Alex Morgan on Twitter, Morgan says she’ll attend Redskins game

Hopefully once word gets around that DeAngelo Hall and Alex Morgan were chatting back and forth on Twitter, everyone calls it flirting. That way we can see if Hall gets all worked up about it like Evan Longoria did that time when he and Morgan were chatting and everyone said he was trying to pick her up. It’s just more fun when that happens. Anyway, Hall recently tweeted back...

Redskins to Trade WR Jabar Gaffney Following Another Twitter Rant

The Washington Redskins are looking to trade wide receiver Jabar Gaffney and have told him not to report to any offseason workouts, according to Gaffney himself. “I was very surprised,” Gaffney told the Washington Times’ John Keim. “I wanted nothing more than to play for the Redskins. I’m still looking forward to a great season with the Redskins, but I was told I don...

Robert Griffin III: “Doubters increase the power of my fuel”

NFL prospect Robert Griffin III has heard nothing but praise when it comes to his potential as an NFL quarterback. Then yesterday it was reported that an unnamed scout has told said that he’s “selfish.” Griffin responded on his Twitter account by saying that doubters only give him power. I’m fueled by faith family & what I represent. Small town kids, Military, &...

Denver LB not impressed with RG3

Von Miller isn't as enamored with Robert Griffin III as others are, but that may due to a rivalry the two had in college.

Redskins Moving WR Niles Paul To Tight End

Washington Redskins wide receiver Niles Paul confirmed that he is making the move to tight end, Mike Jones of The Washington Post reports. "Coach gave me a call earlier this offseason and asked me how I’d feel about switching to tight end," Paul said on Friday. "I told him, 'I’ll play wherever you want me.' I’ve done everything I’ve been asked, and I’ll...

Cowboys and Redskins to have hearing in May

PFT is reporting that the Redskins and Cowboys will have their grievance heard in May. The grievance is over the issue of the NFL forcing them to take salary cap hits for player contracts they front-loaded in the uncapped year. The league contends that the Cowboys and Redskins violated the “spirit” of the salary cap during the uncapped year of 2010, even though the NFL approved...

Rocky McIntosh will visit Bears

Free agent linebacker Rocky McIntosh, who has spent his entire six-year career in Washington, will visit this week with the Bears, a club in desperate need of depth at the position.

RG3 vs. Andrew Luck hype kicks into high gear. Are Redskins fans going overboard?

Sports fans follow teams, but they relate to players. I know this because hits to Hog Heaven are unfailingly higher when a player leads a headline than when the topic is about the team. We saw our biggest hits this month from stories about Robert Griffin III and London Fletcher than when we wrote about the schedule or defense. Big media knows that lesson, so it's no surprise...

NFL mock draft 3.0: Trades, trades and more trades!

We are officially one week away from the 2012 NFL Draft and one week away from the complexity of the 2012 Season changing with every pick. We know how the top two picks will play out but we don’t know how the rest of the draft will play out. Expect over the next week or

Cowboys, Redskins Get May Hearing Over Salary Cap Dispute

The Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins will have their case heard in May after $46 million in salary-cap space was taken away from the two teams, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed Wednesday. The story was first reported by ProFootballTalk.com. Dallas lost $10 million and Washington $36 million as a result of what the management council deemed to be taking...

NFL Seeks Dismissal Of Redskins And Cowboys Cap Penalty Challenge

The NFL has asked an arbitrator to dismiss the challenge by the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys to salary cap reductions imposed by the league, according to a person with knowledge of the case. The league’s request asserts that because the NFL Players Association agreed to the salary cap cuts, the teams should not be able to contest them, according to the person, who provided...

Redskins schedule breakdown and predictions

The first installment of the 2012 schedule breakdown, as promised, is the Redskins. The NFL pundits came out today and said Washington has the 6th easiest schedule for 2012, but I don't see it that way. This schedule looks menacing, especially down the stretch, but it does begin with relatively winnable games. So if RG3 is able to adapt to the NFL quickly, this schedule just...
