Rookie Dennis Kelly will take his first snap in the NFL in place of injured right guard Danny Watkins for the Philadelphia Eagles against Atlanta on Sunday. Watkins, a first-round pick last year, is out with an ankle injury that coach Andy Reid labeled as ''chronic.'' Kelly, a fifth-round pick from Purdue, played tackle in college. Linebacker Jamar Chaney and wide receiver Damaris Johnson are among Philadelphia's healthy inactives. Chaney was a starter earlier in the season. Johnson began the season as the Eagles' punt returner. Wide receiver Harry Douglas is inactive for the Falcons because of ankle and knee injuries. --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

Michael Vick knows coach Reid is ready to make a QB change

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick knows his status as the starting QB is week-to-week. "Obviously, (Reid) is thinking about making a change at quarterback," Vick said during his post-game press conference Sunday. "If he makes that decision, I support it." Reid said after Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons that he would go back and evaluate...

It could be Nick Foles time in Philly, Could Philly trade Vick?

Eagles coach Andy Reid was noncommittal after Sunday’s loss when asked about the job security of Michael Vick. Vick said Reid is “obviously thinking about making a change,” but there was no confirmation of that from the head coach himself. “I’ll go back and look at everything,” said Reid. “I’m not going to sit here and make decisions right now. I’m going to go...

Who is to blame for mess in Philly?

The "Fire Andy" chants were a bit more subdued Sunday, a product of approaching Hurricane Sandy rather than the product Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid put on the field in a 30-17 loss to the undefeated Atlanta Falcons. This storm will pass by midweek. Reid's future here has a bit more staying power, although ownership has forecasted a regime change after...

Eagles OG Danny Watkins Among Week 8's Inactives

The following Eagles are inactive for today’s 1 p.m. game against the Falcons: Trent Edwards, Damaris Johnson, Dion Lewis, Jamar Chaney, Danny Watkins, Nate Menkin and Vinny Curry. The inactives are the same as a couple weeks ago against the Lions, except for Watkins (Steve Vallos didn’t dress in that game). Starting in Watkins’ place is 6-8 rookie Dennis Kelly. Watkins missed...

Stick with Vick? Andy Reid facing big decision in Philadelphia

The quarterback and the coach alike have chosen to make it a topic for public conversation, so, here it is. Who should the Eagles start moving forward – Michael Vick, or Nick Foles? The logical answer is fairly straightforward, actually. However, there are many mitigating factors at play here.

Week 8 Recap: Suck My Vick

I’m not sure I’m the right guy anymore Juan… Week 8 Recap Mike Vick The Eagles are in free fall and more changes could be on the way after Reid dropped a game after having the bye week.  This just never happens.   It was hinted that we could see Nick Foles sooner rather than later this season and we just get him next Sunday.  Mike Vick said this after the game. “Obviously...

Eagles QB Michael Vick's Starting Job On A 'Game-To-Game' Basis

Michael Vick's future in Philadelphia has been a topic of debate all season. Unless he dramatically turns around his play, the expectation is that the Philadelphia Eagles won't keep him around in 2013. NFL Network's Michael Lombardi said Sunday on "NFL GameDay Morning" that Vick's status as the Eagles' starting quarterback is now on a "game-to...

Reid, Mornhinweg, Vick: What’s Next for the 3-4 Philadelphia Eagles?

The Eagles were embarrassed on Sunday by a very good Atlanta Falcons team after falling 30-17. Kudos to the Falcons having a good game plan and sticking to it. It didn’t take them long to take a 14-point lead and inform the Eagles how this game was going to play out — their way. There is no easy way to say this, the Philadelphia Eagles are a 3-4 football team after eight weeks...

Blame Reid in 30-17 loss to Falcons at wet Lincoln Financial Field

It’s funny: I am not angry over the 30-17 loss the Eagles suffered to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Well, I am upset that the Falcons scored on their first six possessions and held a 24-7 halftime lead. The Eagles made third-down stops, only to be overturned by penalty. The Eagles could not stop the rain and wind, nor could they stop Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan and the rest...

Report: Andy Reid wanted to bench Vick last season

According to mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Eagles head coach Andy Reid wanted to bench Michael Vick last season, but Vince Young didn’t play well enough while Vick was … Continue reading »

Eagles Continue to Regress, Lose to Falcons 30-17

Andy Reid’s time in Philadelphia is nearing the end after getting blasted by the Atlanta Falcons 30-17 at home. Andy Reid was 13-0 after the bye week as the Eagles head coach. This season has been a nightmare for Reid and the rest of the Eagles team and organization. The nightmare doesn’t appear to be ending soon, at least not until the end of the regular season. The Falcons...

Falcons 30, Eagles 17

PHILADELPHIA - The Atlanta Falcons remained the NFL's only undefeated team as they rolled to a 30-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles had changed defensive coordinators during their bye week, but the switch from Juan Castillo to Todd Bowles didn't seem to help as the Falcons (7-0) scored touchdowns on their first three...
