Found December 10, 2013 on Eagles Addict:
While Chip Kelly and the 2013 Philadelphia Eagles are in the midst of a playoff run, I thought I’d take a quick sneak peak at some potential free agent targets come the offseason. My philosophy for building a team is simple: you build in the draft and supplement your needs with free agency.  More specifically, always draft the best players available in each round and target needs in free agency if draft doesn’t hit all your holes. The problem with that is you can’t always do it that way considering free agency starts well before the draft and the key players you may want for your system will be gone by time the draft starts. So let’s take a look at the holes on our team as it stands right now… On offense we are set at quarterback, tight end, and across the offensive line as far as free agency is concerned.  We need better depth at most of these positions but that’s easily addressed in the draft. Wide receiver is a different story, though.  I think we can look to upgrade this positio...

WATCH: DeSean Jackson busts out Cousin Terio dance in snow

DeSean Jackson spent some time hanging out with Cousin Terio himself earlier this week, so you just knew the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver was going to break out the Terio dance once again if he scored a touchdown on Sunday. Jackson found the end zone in the third quarter of a 34-20 win over the […]

Eagles Jerseys Are Becoming a Common Sight in the Pro Football Hall of Fame

McCoy’s jersey, cleats and gloves, which the Eagles sent out to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Sunday’s Eagles-Lions game was one for the ages. The entire game was played in hard snow, with players slipping and sliding, visibility extremely low, and snowballs being tossed (at Lions players) from the stands. And in the end, the home team came out on top. The most...

Nick Foles Survives Snow, Proves Worthy as Eagles Quarterback

Nick Foles adapted in his first game played in the snow and led the Eagles to a character win Sunday against the Detroit Lions at Lincoln Financial Field.  Even before Lincoln Financial Field was blanketed by eight inches of snow on Sunday afternoon, the Eagles matchup with the Detroit Lions was hailed as the highest hurdle the Birds and Nick Foles had to clear to date, and the...

Eagles' defense bends, doesn't break

All those yards the Philadelphia Eagles give up on defense aren't translating into points for the opponents. The numbers say the Eagles have the NFL's 3rd-worst defense in total yards, allowing 398.1 per game. Only Minnesota (401.2) and Dallas (426.8) give up more. But points determine the winner and the Eagles are keeping teams out of the end zone. Since Peyton Manning...

Philadelphia Eagles’ Updated Outlook on the 2013 Playoffs

The Philadelphia Eagles still control their own playoff destiny after beating the Detroit Lions in the “Snow Bowl” this past Sunday.  Coupled with a Dallas loss on Monday Night Football, the Eagles are now a full game ahead of the Cowboys and in sole possession of first place in the NFC East. However, by no means can they relax. The loss by Dallas only did one thing for the...

Weekly Vinny Curry Update

In a snowy afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field, our hero, wearing number 75, continued his strong play. Curry played 18 snaps, which appears to be a set back, was not when the Eagles defense was on the field for just 58 defensive plays. The defense end played in 31 percent of the plays, which is his normal playing time. Pressure was at a premium, while time in the pocket was not...

Dashing Through the Snow

It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Philadelphia as the snow made for miserable conditions. The weather hindered the Eagles’ high octane offense predicated on speed and tempo. In a must-win game, LeSean McCoy rushed for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns setting a franchise record previously held by Steve Van Buren (205 yds). Shady single handedly carried them back from a...

Eagles Control Playoff Destiny

Thanks to a five-game surge the Eagles are now in control of their own playoff destiny.  Thanks to the Eagles win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday their five-game winning streak makes them not only the hottest team in the NFC, but Chip Kelly's team now controls it's own playoff destiny.  At 8-5 the Eagles lead the NFC East division race by a full game over the Dallas Cowboys...

Eagles-Vikings Preview

After picking up yet another win last weekend, the Philadelphia Eagles find themselves alone atop the NFC East. While they would appear to have a favorable matchup against a Minnesota team that could be without its best player, the Eagles know better than to overlook the last-place Vikings. Philadelphia tries to extend its winning streak to six Sunday when it visits Minnesota,...
