The line between being the hero or the goat is thin for an NFL cornerback, and the Giants' Corey Webster spent Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium teetering precariously on that line while battling Buffalo wide receiver Steve Johnson.

The last time the Bills moved down the field in the closing minutes against the Giants in a big game, it ended with Scott Norwood going wide right from 47 yards in the final seconds of Super Bowl XXV. And the last time Corey Webster had a game-saving interception in a big game it was against Brett Favre in overtime of the NFC Championship Game four years ago in Green Bay.
Cornerback Corey Webster was beaten for a game-tying touchdown pass to Stevie Johnson but also had two interceptions against Ryan Fitzpatrick, who came into the game with only four INTs all season. Webster on both picks was in man coverage on Johnson and jumped on underthrown passes.
It's funny how quickly perception can change because of one play.
If Corey Webster doesn't come down with an interception near the goal line with just over four minutes to play on Sunday afternoon, there's a good chance that the Giants lose to the Bills and that we're sitting here discussing the bleak future of the Giants.
