The Peyton Show is on the road this week as the (5-3) Denver Broncos go into Carolina to take on Cam Newton and the (2-6) Panthers. On paper, this game doesn’t appear to be close as the Broncos have been rolling lately, with Peyton Manning coming back to MVP form. It also brings former Panthers head coach John Fox back to take on his former team for the first time since being canned two years ago.
The key to victory for Carolina is simple – keep Peyton off the field. If Newton and the offense are moving the ball and scoring touchdowns and not field goals, they will make this game interesting. The running game will be key for the Panthers, and they showed flashes of the power running game last week against the Redskins. Personnel wise, Carolina’s running game matches well against anyone. The difference will lie in the hands (or legs) of Cam Newton’s ability to pick up third down plays. If he does, the Panthers can be successful.
Brandon Lafell’s status still remains unclear, which means that Steve Smith will have to do whatever he can to get open and move the chains. It will be a tough assignment, since he will drawn the attention of All-Pro corner Champ Bailey. This means that tight end Greg Olsen MUST step up and have a big game.
On the Broncos side, the offense has been rolling into juggernaut form, and against a porous defense it is more than reasonable to expect a huge game from all members of the Denver offense.
Manning has shown good chemistry with Eric Decker, who had a pair of touchdowns last weekend against the Bengals. My prediction is that he hauls in 8 catches for 100ish and a score. On the other side, I would bank on Demaryius Thomas to have a big game as well. The physical Georgia Tech product WILL score a TD this week, and will stretch the field allowing Manning to pick apart the D.
With all the receiving weapons Denver has, it makes you forget that Manning also has Willis McGahee at his disposal running the ball! I don’t think Willis will put up a huge game, but he will be his consistent self and will most likely punch one in from the goal line. I would say 70-85 yards and a TD is a good expectation for him.
Denver wins this game – Carolina puts some pressure on them early

In the third quarter of today's Denver Broncos/Carolina Panthers affair, Broncos cornerback Tony Carter picked off Cam Newton and scored a touchdown.
As part of the celebration, Tony decided to bust out Cam's "Superman":

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Peyton Manning made sure John Fox's return to Carolina was a successful one, throwing for 301 yards and a touchdown to lead the Denver Broncos to a 36-14 win over the Panthers on Sunday. Manning threw his 420th touchdown pass to move into a tie for second place on the NFL's all-time list with Dan Marino. He trails only Brett Favre (508). Manning had...
Tweet Last week Von Miller said he hoped to get a chance to do Cam Newton’s “Superman” celebration when his Broncos met the the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. It didn’t take long for that opportunity to present itself. Miller was a headache for the Panthers all afternoon as he finished with 6 tackles and [...]

I thought the Broncos would be one of the league's toughest teams this season, but early on, they looked slightly out of sync, and it led to some early season losses. With their win today, however, the Broncos are on track for a comfortable playoff birth, and no team looks more dangerous right now.
Peyton Manning quietly put together a 300+ yard game, throwing just one touchdown...
Even the greatest quarterbacks can’t overcome bad teams, especially not in their rookie year. It’s something that I have always believed and will continue to believe until forever. Look at Peyton Manning, one of the most prolific passers of our time, and a number one overall draft pick. He came into a team that was legitimately terrible in 1998, and the Colts were capable of...
The NFL 2012 regular season has already been filled with a wide array of records, and more can be set this weekend. Television viewership is setting all time records while the league is setting a variety of records each and every week with new stars entering the league. However, some veteran players could find themselves moving up in the record books after this weekend’s slate...
Before the first NFL game kicked off in 2012 everything was sliced, diced and broken down for us by all the experts who raised questions and made predictions as well. Right now entering week 10 of the NFL season, many questions have been answered, some predictions have come true but currently, these three players not only exceeded expectations, they are leaders in their respective...
The Indianapolis Colts have been at the epicenter of NFL headlines all season long.
First, everyone wanted to know how the team would fare in the Andrew Luck era after seeing the success that Peyton Manning brought. Then, first-year head coach Chuck Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia and after responding with a win against the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 7, the team became the NFL’s...

The Broncos sit at 5-3 and rank 2nd in yards per play differential and 9th in rate of sustaining drives differential with momentum on their side and they’ve done this despite one of the toughest schedules in the league thus far. From this point on, they have one of the league’s easiest schedules, with games against Tampa Bay, Carolina, San Diego...

If the playoffs were to start today, Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts would travel to the Denver Broncos to play Peyton Manning, who through 8 games, has exactly the same amount of passing yards as his replacement Luck, 2404. The Colts are 4-1 in their last 5, since Chuck Pagano had to leave the team to undergo treatment for Leukemia, with that...
