Minnesota Vikings – 20, Indianapolis Colts– 23

Another close game played by Christian Ponder (252 total yards, 2 TDs) and the Vikings, but this time there wasn’t overtime or any last second kicks.  This is the second straight solid yardage outing by Ponder, and it was nice to see him throw a couple of touchdowns as well.  You could do worse than having Ponder as a backup QB, as he’s likely to have to throw often this season.

It only took until week 2 for Andrew Luck (245 total yards, 2 TDs) to get his first win of his career.  Once again he had a good outing fantasy-wise, as it looks like he may end up putting on usable fantasy stats most of the year.  If you have Luck as a platoon QB and are playing matchups, he’ll definitely have efficient days like today against the right defenses.

If the Vikings offensive game plan is any indication so far two weeks into the season, the offense really is going to revolve around Percy Harvin (12-104, 13 rushing yards) at least as much as AP.  Harvin’s 14 total touches were second on the team, and his pace doesn’t look like it’ll be slowing any time soon.  Kyle Rudolph (3-35, 1 TD) was there to clean up and score a touchdown; he continues to get more and more involved, so if you can get him for cheap in TE mandatory leagues, do it now before his value starts to skyrocket.

Week 2, and second week in a row that Reggie Wayne (6-71, 1 TD) puts up fantasy starter stats.  Considering you got him likely as an WR3/flex option, you’re feeling pretty good about having him in the lineup.  The big surprise is that this is the second straight week of Donnie Avery (9-111) having a good fantasy stat line.  Avery is available in a lot of leagues, so it’s time to pick him up.  Coby Fleener (2-16) came back to earth a bit and looks like he’ll have an up and down year with Luck.

After a solid week 1, Adrian Peterson (16 car., 60 yards; 3 rec., 20 yards) had a surprisingly low stat line considering the opponent.  AP will have better days ahead though, as he apparently is just about all the way back from his knee surgery, which is remarkable in and of itself.

Another game, another not very useful stat line from the Colts running game.  The Colts aren’t likely to run the ball particularly well this season, so Donald Brown (16 car., 45 yards) barely has any value.  He is a starting RB, however, so he has to be rostered; just don’t expect much more than what you’ve seen so far.
