This is one of the rare times that I can brag a little. Last week’s preview was dead on. Fans of the greatest show on turf may not have rejoiced, but, for now, this is the blueprint for success. Before we get into the review, I have a few comments. First, when I went back and watched the game recording, I was more than a little surprised how well the offensive tackles played. Sam Bradford was only sacked once, and the Rams were pass-happy in the first half. Yes, the tackles had assistance from the tight ends from time to time, but they more then held their own in one on one battles. Second, for those fans that have been frustrated by Bradford’s laser lock on the main receiver and the inability to throw the deep ball, I hope you have been watching the last few games with open eyes. He is showing remarkable improvement. If you don’t believe me, please read this tremendous article by Tim Shields as example 1: http://www.ramsherd.com/2012-articles/season/anatomy-of-a-play-sa...

Arizona running back Ryan Williams’ season is over

The Arizona Cardinals got off to an incredible 4-0 start that hit a wall when they were defeated by the St. Louis Rams on Thursday. They lost more than the game when their starting running back Ryan Williams went down with a season ending shoulder injury. Please Click Here To Read This Story.

Rams make right move with Steven Jackson

The St. Louis Rams said last week they would void running back Steven Jackson's final year of his contract. The move was definitely surprising, after all, how many teams actually void contracts of star players? But it was shrewd, and makes perfect sense for the Rams and for Jackson.Jackson is in his ninth season with the Rams. He's already the franchises leading rusher, ahead...

Fantasy Football 2012: Should Rams WR Brandon Gibson Be on Your Radar?

.Danny Amendola’s injury has opened the door for somebody to take on extra looks for the St. Louis Rams. Amendola has more than twice as many yards with 395 as the next closest guy..That guy is Brandon Gibson and he is second on the Rams with 186 receiving yards through five games. The only other receiver with 100+ yards is Chris Givens, and he has 112 on just four catches...

Ryan Williams out for the season

The Arizona Cardinals received some disappointing news this afternoon when it was learned that starting running back Ryan Williams has been lost for the season due to a left shoulder injury that will require surgery. Williams suffered the injury when he took a hard hit last Thursday against the Rams. Arizona is already without former starter Beanie Wells, who is out until at least...

CARDINALS TO GIVE WILLIAM POWELL FIRST LOOK AT STARTING SPOT…

CARDINALS TO GIVE WILLIAM POWELL FIRST LOOK AT STARTING SPOT - ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that William Powell will likely be given the first shot at the Cardinals’ running back position, which had been vacated by both Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams due to injuries. Most people certainly have no idea what to expect when Powell takes the field against the Bills on Sunday...

Fantasy Spin on Remains of Cardinals Backfield

Ryan Williams is cursed. That seems official now. Beanie Wells is made of class - also official. La'rod Stephens-Howling has a ridiculous first name, hyphenated last name and 12 rushes for 1 year. In case you are keeping score at home that's an amazing 0.1 ypc average. That leaves rookie rusher William Powell who led the rushing in the presesaon but suffered a head injury in week 5.

Lock of the Day – October 8, 2012

LOTD Recap We nailed our first CLNS Radio Lock of the Day with the St. Louis Rams (+2.5) on Thursday Night Football.  While the Rams weren’t exactly dominant, Sam Bradford hit a couple huge plays, and Kevin Kolb reverted back to what he’s been most of his career.  I hope you cashed in on our [...]

Re-evaluating the Rams' 2012 schedule

Before the season started, I had this Rams team pegged for a 5-11 season. Mild improvement, based on a stronger showing at home (check), but nothing earth-shattering. I figured it would be too soon for all the offensive pieces to come together, especially given a threadbare offensive line, and was ready for a "wait 'til next year" approach to the season. Well, here...

Rams’ Finnegan top rising sports star per Brand Affinity list

Maybe Cortland Finnegan is becoming the hated player we hate to love? The St. Louis Rams cornerback has earned to top spot on Brand Affinity Technologies' (BAT) monthly ranking of 'Rising Sports Stars'. The monthly ranking list examines the players who have had the most significant leap in popularity during the previous month, and hopefully acts as a tool that marketers...

Bills-Cardinals Preview

A visit from the defensively challenged Buffalo Bills might be what the banged-up Arizona Cardinals need to get back on track. Now missing their top two rushers, the Cardinals look to rebound from their first loss of the season while trying to hand the reeling Bills a third consecutive defeat Sunday. Arizona (4-1) was off to its best start in 38 years before being roughed up in...
