TEAMS: New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Virginia Tech Hokies
In my New York Giants Season Preview article I mentioned what high expectations were being placed on first round draft pick David Wilson coming off a fantastic preseason. Week 1 against the Cowboys didn’t go as planned for Wilson. Coach Coughlin benched him after 2 carries after he fumbled during a first half scoreless game in New York. For the rest of the game David Wilson only return kick offs.
The 21-year-old rookie out of Virginia Tech has not been taking his failures of week 1 and according to him the media isn’t helping matters.
“They won’t let me forget about it,” Wilson told Newsday. “I’m trying to move on, and every day someone comes and asks me about it. I’m definitely surprised. Quarterbacks throw interceptions and running backs fumble all the time. I think even after I have a successful game, questions about the fumble will come again. I’ve fumbled before and it hasn’t stopped me from getting here. It might happen again. Just take a li...

Is Campbell’s soup ad insensitive to Giants Victor Cruz?
Campbell’s soup has New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz as its spokesman for their Mama’s boy ad campaign. Those are the ads that show the players real mother bringing them Campbell’s soup on the sideline or at home, but one of the commercial’s that has been airing recently, has a bit part with Victor Cruz’s grandmother at the end of the commercial. New York Giants’ Adewale Ojomo Out, Keith Rivers Doubtful for Week Two
In some potentially discouraging news, the New York Giants will most likely be without Keith Rivers for the team’s Week two bout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rivers was all over the field in the Giants first game, and he was well on his way to becoming an integral aspect of the Giants linebacker core. Staying with the injury theme, Adewale Ojomo has been ruled out of Sunday’s...
New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora will call Robert Griffin the 3rd, "RG3" now
Prior to the start of the 2012 NFL season, New York Giants defensive tackle Osi Umenyiora decided to cause a fuss over Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin the 3rd.
He stated in a WFAN interview that he wouldn't call him by his nickname RG3 and would call him instead by the name of "Bob".
Well, it only took one week for Osi to change his tune about the...
New York Giants Coach Kevin Gilbride Loses Mustache in Trimming Accident, Prompting New York Times Obituary
The New York Giants are dealing with plenty of drama this offseason. As defending Super Bowl champions, they've got a big target on their backs heading into this year, and a Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys certainly didn't help matters. What really could be derailing their season, however, is the loss of a loved one in the Giants family: offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride...

Giants need to take care of business now, with brutal schedule
Now, doesn’t this look reminiscent from a year ago.
With the New York Giants facing the leagues toughest schedule in 2012, they will need to take care of their early-season games, which appear to be much easier than the later part of the season.
In 2011, New York jumped on their September and early-October opponents, sprinting out to a 5-2 record before faltering in the back...

Linebacker Keith Rivers is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers with a hamstring injury, the Giants announced. Cornerback Prince Amukamara (ankle) and receiver Hakeem Nicks (foot) are questionable.
Defensive end Adewale Ojomo (hamstring) is the only player ruled out for Sunday. All the other injured players -- C David Baas (hip), CB Michael Coe (hamstring), DT...
Throwback Pic: Victor Cruz
I was a 2 sport athlete back then Juan…
This was Victor Cruz when he was just 10 years old. Now back to business. Cruz had some big drops in the Giants first game against the Cowboys, but I fully expect him to get double digit targets and have a big game against the Bucs.

Giants' Phillips fined $30K for hit
Safety Kenny Phillips has been fined $30,000 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness, one of four New York Giants disciplined for their conduct in last Sunday's win over Tampa Bay.
Phillips, a repeat offender who also was fined last season, drew this fine for striking defenseless Buccaneers receiver Vincent Jackson on a pass play. No penalty flag was thrown.
Other Giants disciplined...

Jarrett Schreck will handle the duties of grading the WRs in our Ultimate22 project. Jarrett is extremely knowledgeable about the game and has a strong football background. He was one of the best WRs in the state of NJ during his time at Delbarton. The Treigh Report: Eli and the Giants had a good week of practice
The defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants had a rough first game, one that they would like to forget. The offense seemed out of sync with no running game, the secondary let allowed many first down completions, and the defensive line didn’t finish the job. But Eli Manning knows that everything that didn’t go [...]
