Practice? We’re talking about practice? Allen Iverson’s famous rant was the first thing that came to mind when Jack Del Rio disclosed his reasoning for cutting his starting quarterback so close to the start of the regular season. It’s true that David Garrard hadn’t had the best preseason but it’s still hard to believe that Del Rio would risk the season by releasing David Garrard without an established replacement. With many people in football circles still reeling from the news of Garrard’s expeditious release on Monday, Del Rio would reveal his reasoning in a press conference on Wednesday citing Garrard’s performance in his final practice. Garrard performed horribly tossing three interceptions during Monday’s practice. Having seen enough, Del Rio went to Jaguars’ management and asked for Garrard’s immediate release.
