San Francisco 49ers

We're the clear cut favorite in our division, but we know there's still work to be done. Sure, we shouldn't have any major trouble in securing the NFC West title and the playoff birth that comes with it, but our sights are on the grand prize. To get to the Super Bowl, we'll need our defense to continue its dominance, and we'll need Alex Smith to continue to develop as a starting quarterback. He was a very efficient game manager last season, even making clutch plays at times, but now we need him to become a strong leader and passer. If he can do that, we could find ourselves in prime position for a Super Bowl birth.

Arizona Cardinals

Kevin Kolb or John Skelton? That's our big question. We're hoping one of those guys becomes the clear leader at some point in the preseason, because at this point, it's a draw. Last season, we were okay on defense, but our offense let us down. We think most of those problems stem from the lack of a true starting quarterback. Hopefully we can fix that problem now and compete for a playoff spot. Not many people are talking about us, but we think we have a solid team.

Seattle Seahawks

Our offseason has been all about the quarterback position, and our head coach, Pete Carroll, has his work cut out for him in picking a starter. The favorite to win the job has to be Matt Flynn. We didn't go get him to be our backup. Still, if Russell Wilson shows that he can lead our team, we'd be more than happy to let the young gun go to work. Tarvaris Jackson is still in the discussion, but he's had his opportunity, and he failed to capitalize on it.

St. Louis Rams

This is a big year for us. Jeff Fisher should add a level of confidence to our team, and this season will set the tone for the foreseeable future. Sam Bradford is a big question mark in our locker room. This is the year we have to determine whether he is our long term starter. If not, we have to start looking at our options down the road. We think we can compete, but we're realistic too. We're hoping to be in the discussion for a wild card playoff spot.
