Tony Romo (@SportsNation) Every game, every season, whatever the outcome, Tony Romo is always the butt of every joke, the player to blame, and the focus of upset Cowboy fans. Is it really his fault though? If it is then why would Cowboys Owner and General Manager, Jerry Jones give Tony Romo such a large new contract and guarantee him more money than Superbowl winning quarterback Joe Flacco? Simple. Jerry Jones doesn’t blame Romo for every Cowboy’s misstep and fans need to adopt that attitude. They need to spread the hate and look deeper into the Cowboy’s failures. Let’s just take last weekend against Andy Reid’s Chiefs for example. Can someone tell me why Jason Garrett STILL doesn’t know how to manage the clock? It makes no sense why he used all of the Cowboy’s timeouts so early. They still had the two minute warning and if they were able to stop the Chiefs they would have had well over one minute to run several plays and possibly score the wining points. This is not the first time either, don’t get me started on last year’s utter failure on time management when the Cowboys lost to the Ravens. Jason Garrett doesn’t call defensive plays, nor does he call offensive plays so what does he do? Oh yeah, thats right he calls ill advised time outs and screws the Cowboys on clock management. How many times have we caught receivers such as Dez Bryant, new comer Terrence Williams, and even former Cowboy Kevin Ogletree running the wrong routes causing Romo to throw what looks like an errant pass or even an interception? This has happened over and over again and instantly we forgive the receivers and focus our blame on Romo. Did you see Tom Brady this past Thursday night when he went off on his receivers for dropping passes and running wrong routes? Everyone is blaming the receivers but no one is going after Brady. Sure the headlines may have read “Brady’s tantrums going overboard?” But no one questioned Brady’s greatness. Why? One reason; Superbowl credibility Even though Tony Romo may not be directly responsible for all of the Cowboy failures and losses, but he will not get the benefit of the doubt until he brings the Big D the Lombardi Trophy. I can rant on and on, give examples, blame others for their mistakes but until Romo wins the Superbowl it’s still going to be his fault.

Jerry Jones names Brian Waters as a starter

Jerry Jones indicated during a radio interview with Dallas’ KRLD-FM that veteran Guard Brian Waters will get the starting nod over Mackenzy Bernadeau at RG. Waters is a 6 time Pro Bowler that has impressed Jones. “We thought Waters played good for the number of snaps he (had),” Jones said on his radio show aired on Dallas’ KRLD-FM. “So Waters will be in there. That...

Garrett: Cowboys need to re-commit to the run

IRVING, Texas -- To put it lightly, Jason Garrett answered a few questions on Monday about his team's inability to establish a running game Sunday in Kansas City. To summarize his many responses, the Dallas Cowboys head coach said the team needs to "recommit to running the football." "In yesterday's game, we were in some no-huddle type situations for some...

Garrett: Romo's ribs are not an issue

Tony Romo's passing accuracy was curiously off during the latter stages of Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Romo sustained a rib injury the previous week against the Giants and took a painkilling injection before the game in Kansas City. In his postgame interview, Romo said the effects of the shot did not wear off during the game. However, he appeared to alter his follow...

Bryant not practicing with Cowboys on Wednesday

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is not practicing today. Bryant, who injured his back Sunday in Kansas City, was at practice on Wednesday but not in pads. During his Wednesday morning press conference, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett was asked about Bryant's back and if he anticipated the 24-year-old practicing. "I think it's sore and we...

Cowboys' elevator stops in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY -- The Dallas Cowboys' Sunday afternoon in Kansas City was splotched with indecision, bad decisions and well -intentioned decisions gone wrong. And even after this 17-16 Week 2 loss to the Chiefs, the sputtering continued all the way to a simple Arrowhead Stadium elevator ride. As Cowboys staffers trudged from their lofty box to the lift that would drop them to the...

Cowboys not running ball under new OC Callahan

One of the benefits of not calling offensive plays in the NFL is that someone else can receive the blame for a stunning lack of balance. If only Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett had learned that lesson a year or two earlier. Since taking over play calling duties for the Cowboys in 2007, Garrett has on many occasions been accused of relying too heavily on the pass. When it was awkwardly...

Cowboys run-game pledge sounds like trouble

IRVING, Texas -- There are certain sounds that are evocative enough to promise trouble is upon you. It's when you hear the squealing of tires braking on pavement, when you hear a chorus of children singing hauntingly in a scary movie, when you hear your wife say, "We need to talk." The noise that causes those same sort of chills to run up the spines of Dallas Cowboys...

New Game Plan for the Cowboys Already Gone?

The Dallas Cowboys looked like a whole different team from the one we saw take down the New York Giants in week one, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs 17-16 in the home opener.  It was also the home debut for new head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Alex Smith. The Chiefs got out to an early 7-0 lead with Smith, who had a game-high 57 rushing yards, running and passing the...

Dez Bryant Retweets Draya’s Vagina Photo and Cowboys Fans Aren’t Pleased

It came as a surprise to no one that Dez Bryant didn’t do any of his classwork at Oklahoma State, because he isn’t the brightest guy around.  With that being said I am going to cut him a little slack here. While on Twitter last night this exchange took place between Bryant and Basketball Wives Draya courtesy of The Big Lead. Now, I am not going to post the Vagina in question...

Cowboys stadium uses more electricity than Liberia

Liberian president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf claimed that AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, actually uses more energy than her entire nation. She's right, sort of.

Cowboys Run-Game Pledge Sounds Like Trouble

Dez Bryant Not Practicing Wednesday

Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant did not practice on Wednesday, according to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News.Fantasy Spin:Bryant is nicked up with the sore foot from last week and a back that tighened up during last week's game, so this time off isn't unexpected. Barring a setback, he'll be ready for St. Louis on Sunday.

Cowboys-Chiefs Instant Trivia: Another Unique Score

Some random trivia items focusing on yesterday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs: The Dallas Cowboys have played 862 regular-season and playoff games. I have no idea what the actual odds of this happening are, but how possible is it for the Cowboys to play back-to-back games with final scores unique to any of the other 860 games? Last week, the Cowboys beat the Giants 36-31, marking...

Rams-Cowboys Preview

The Dallas Cowboys finished 2012 averaging the fewest rushing yards per game in team history as DeMarco Murray nursed an injury for most of the season. The running game hasn't been any better through the first two weeks this season despite Murray being healthy, and he's placing most of the blame on himself heading into Sunday's home matchup with the St. Louis Rams. ...
