When you think of the St. Louis Rams drafts over the years there are not to many memorable draft picks.  I am not talking about the last few years, but all the way back to their first year in St. Louis. Yes, the Rams drafted Torry Holt and the Orlando Pace, two draft selections that clearly worked out.  But there were more poor picks, such as Lawrence Phillips and Jason Smith, than great ones. With so many poor picks in the past, it has been difficult for the Rams to recover. The draft is a crap shoot no matter how you look at it, you have to take guys with track records. You can not rely on prospects that were one year wonders. That’s why when the Rams were able to take Janoris Jenkins in the second round this year; they got the steal of the draft.  I believe that he had top 5 talent, but also carried too much baggage for teams to take too early in the draft.
