For the second consecutive season, the San Diego Chargers have failed to qualify for post season play, igniting a firestorm of rumors surrounding head coach Norv Turner and General Manager A.J. Smith. Will the pair survive the failings of the 2011 season and return in 2012? We will find out later this week according to the Chargers ownership. It appeared that the San Diego Chargers were going to make another late season surge and sneak into the playoffs after rebounding from a six-game losing streak to win three in a row before being demolished Christmas Eve 38-10 at the hands of the Detroit Lions. The 2011 season was filled with injuries and uncharacteristic play from QB Philip Rivers. Early on in the regular season, injury rumors surrounded Rivers as he struggled with interceptions.   • I love it! We have been bombarded for weeks by the majority of the sport talking heads that Turner was going to be out this week. It has to let the air out of their Ego sack when the opposite comes to pass. We shouldn't have to listen to that rumor again till next September.
