Football Extra Points:
The Cowboys have to win if they want to make the playoffs. This week they have a tough match-up.
The season is coming to a close and I'm sitting at 142-82. That's over .600 but I can do better.
Here's a look at week 16
Atlanta at Detroit - The Falcons destroyed the Giants last week and silenced a few critics that say they can't win the big game. I still want to see what they can do in the playoffs. They are playing well on both sides of the ball right now but they are still not the best team in the NFC. The Falcons have to win at least one playoff game to prove they are for real.
The Lions are terrible. As a fan, I've watched almost every Lions game the last 10 years. I thought the Lions were building toward a bright future but they took a big step backward this season. They did not address their biggest need last offseason, their defensive backfield. Add to that the fact that all of their receivers were injured expect CJ and you'...

Over the course of this season the Dallas Cowboys have had to patch up and do running repairs, in many positions. This has caused players to move around and play in positions they are unaccustomed to. The adjustments they've made have helped the team to its current position, a tie at the top of the NFC East and in control of their playoff destiny. Here are three of the unsung...
The NFC East has been tight all season and the final two weeks are shaping up to be interesting to say the least. Right now, the Redskins and rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III lead the division with two games to play. As you’ll see in our week 16 playoff picture, it’s conceivable that two teams wind up at 10-6 and into the playoffs but I think when the dust settles the Dallas...
The Cowboys have had a very odd year with regards to their defense. So much so that at times you do just look at the personnel available and concede that to judge these players against a normal grading system is just unfair.
Then, you admit that injuries happen all of the league and there are no sympathy cards arriving in the mailbox. You also see that you are in the middle of...
Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com reported on Thursday that Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware and running back DeMarco Murray have both been fined for infractions during their 27-24 overtime win this past Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ware was fined $15,750 for his fourth quarter blow to the head of Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. On the play Ware...
Speak of the devil! Wasn’t it just this week that we posted pictures of the new Dallas Cowboys cheerleader calendar? Or at least some behind the scenes shots? And didn’t we say we wished we had pictures of their calendar release party? Well isn’t it a hoot that we just came across these the other day?
Sometimes pictures of the party are even better than the calendar...
I just wanted to say a a few things on behave of the greatest fans on Earth on the eve of our second to last regular season game…The post We Are Cowboys Nation All Day, Every Day And Twice on Sunday! appeared first on Lone Star Struck.
Wait ‘til Jerry Jones gets word of this! The Houston Texans have unveiled plans to install a new video screen at Reliant Stadium. One that dwarfs the super-mega-HDTVs at the new-ish Cowboy Stadium. Actually, there will be two of them. Take that, “America’s Team.” The new screens will be more than 3,000 square feet bigger … Continue reading »
This week's game between the New Orleans Saints (6-8) and the Dallas Cowboys (8-6) could take many twists and turns with both teams playing some of their best football of the season. The Saints are coming off of a Week 15 41-0 dismantling of NFC South division rival Buccaneers, while the Cowboys pulled off a 27-24 dramatic overtime win against the Steelers. The past five games...
New Orleans Saints (6-8) at Dallas Cowboys (8-6)
The Cowboys entered December at 6-6 after a rough month of November, traditionally a strong month for them, and it looked unlikely that they would be unable to choke again this December, mostly because there would be nothing to choke away. However, after two straight wins, they are at 8-6 and in control of their own destiny, which...
Archie Manning visited Texas Stadium on a Monday night in 1973.
The Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints have faced one another 24 times since 1967. The Cowboys won the first five games between 1967 and 1969, but most of those games were relatively close.
In 1971, Dallas faced New Orleans in October at time when Tom Landry was still alternating between Roger Staubach and Craig Morton...
