Found October 29, 2012 on Juan Elway:
I still won’t run the ball Juan… Andy Reid is coaching for his job this season and rumors are flying that he could bench starting QB Michael Vick in favor of rookie Nick Foles.  Foles is a highly regarded prospect that really impressed this preseason and Reid has had a track record of making QBs fantasy stars. Here is what Vick said after the game: “Obviously, he’s thinking about making a change at the quarterback position,” Vick acknowledged, per the Philadelphia Inquirer. “The thing I do know, when I go and watch the film and evaluate myself, I’m giving us every opportunity to win. I’m trying my hardest. Some things don’t go right when I want them to, some things do. If that’s the decision coach wants to make, then I support it.” Insiders of the Eagles may not be buying this switch at this point in the season, as Rich Hofmann of the Philadelphia Daily News stated: “Put it this way: If he does start rookie Nick Foles next week in New Orleans, Reid will have surrendered to his situation. He has never done that before, not really. His moves in the past have almost always been affirmative moves. He generally does not do things out of fear.” This may be Andy’s only out, to get the kid of the future in the game and show the front office that he has a vision of what is to come for the team.  Dan Graziano thinks the following: “I know anything’s possible and the NFL is unpredictable, and I’ve seen the Eagles play like a very good team in spots over the past two seasons. But the overriding feeling around the Eagles since the start of 2011 has been one of malaise, and never more stunning or inexcusable than it was Sunday. Reid can keep changing coordinators, and he can change quarterbacks if he really thinks rookie Nick Foles gives him a better chance to win games and save this season. But I don’t think it’s fixable at this point. I think we’re watching something end. And for the first time since last season began under all of that hope and all of those expectations, I think the Eagles will have a different head coach when they open their season in September 2013.” Lots of things to be addressed this week once Sandy calms down and the East coast can get back to business.  I am recommending owners of Vick or those who are looking for a spark at the QB position to grab Foles now. Blame Reid in 30-17 loss to Falcons at wet Lincoln Financial Field

It’s funny: I am not angry over the 30-17 loss the Eagles suffered to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Well, I am upset that the Falcons scored on their first six possessions and held a 24-7 halftime lead. The Eagles made third-down stops, only to be overturned by penalty. The Eagles could not stop the rain and wind, nor could they stop Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan and the rest...

Philadelphia Eagles: 5 Reasons Fans Losing Hope For Playoff Run

When you listen to as much Philadelphia sports commentary as I do, you start to hear the same narrative over and over. One of the more common phrases used in reference to Andy Reid’s 14-year tenure is “the definition of insanity: repeating the same experiment over and over again expecting different results.”At a disappointing 3-4, the future seems bleak for die-hard Eagles fans...

Who is to blame for mess in Philly?

The "Fire Andy" chants were a bit more subdued Sunday, a product of approaching Hurricane Sandy rather than the product Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid put on the field in a 30-17 loss to the undefeated Atlanta Falcons. This storm will pass by midweek. Reid's future here has a bit more staying power, although ownership has forecasted a regime change after...

Donovan McNabb Defends Michael Vick, Thinks Other Players' Jobs Should Be on the Line

Donovan McNabb knows a thing or two about playing through a quarterback controversy, so he understands that rampant speculation about Michael Vick potentially getting benched could impact the Eagles quarterback. "You have to focus on your job and if you focus on your job you block everything out," McNabb said on Tuesday's NFL AM. "I think you...

Eagles must make a move

The time is now for Andy Reid to save what he has left in terms of job security, and even if he makes a move now, there is a good possibility that he will be gone once the season has come to an end. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in the lead up to the season that a .500 team is not acceptable, and one can understand why he feels that way considering the amount that he has invested...
