(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated.) By ANDREW SELIGMAN AP Sports Writer Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte says he's just about 100 percent, that his sprained right ankle is feeling better.
That's certainly good news for the NFC North leaders.
They sit atop the division at 4-1 and rank 10th in the league in rushing despite some uneven performances. Forte is averaging 4.7 yards per carry and newcomer Michael Bush has been solid backing him up, but the Bears realize there's room for improvement.
Forte says he's ''pretty much back'' to where he should be, so maybe the run game will kick into a higher gear, as it has in recent years around their off week. The Bears just had theirs with Detroit (2-3) visiting Chicago on Monday night.

Get ready for the ‘Hester Package’ Juan…With Alshon Jeffery out for a few more weeks, we could see more Hester than we originally thought. The Bears seem to have more confidence then I do in the KR/WR. I think Hester could be used in some gadget plays and sparingly throughout the game, but his value is tied to punt and kick returns. Hester is the best returner in the...
Chris Williams was drafted by the Bears 14th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft. On July 23, 2008, it was announced that he had signed a five year contract with the Bears. When Alshon Jeffery broke his hand in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars there was disappointment in his loss, but optimism that Earl Bennett could step up in his place. Bennett is a solid option and a favorite target of quarterback Jay Cutler. He is a solid option as a slot receiver and can be counted on to make critical catches in the clutch.
The need for Bennett to...
A lopsided loss to the Packers sent Houston sliding down the list, while the Bears grabbed the top spot despite being idle in Week 6.
After two injury marred seasons, Chicago Bears defensive end Corey Wootton is finally playing up to his potential, yet he's not willing to rest on his past accomplishments.

Chicago Bears' wide receiver Brandon Marshall has done a fine job on and off the field this season.
He's reeled in 35 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns.
Over the past two games, Marshall has caught seven or more passes for 130 yards and one touchdown.
He is on pace for 112 catches and 1,581 yards, which both would be franchise records.

After the Packers shut him down in Week 2, the Bears have since been moving Brandon Marshall all over the field pre-snap, which has resulted in back-to-back 100-yard receiving games.
Lance Louis has thus far been the most consistent offensive lineman on the team during the 2012 season. Louis has been a solid run blocker and an even better pass blocker. However to this point in the five games he's started he hasn't faced a player of the same caliber as Ndamukong Suh.
Suh has been a dominant force since his arrival in the NFL. He leads the league...
As part of the fallout from the release of former first round OT Chris Williams, the Chicago Bears signed T Cory Brandon to the practice squad today.
