PLAYERS: Roger Goodell
Ndamukong Suh is still one of the game's most recognizable young stars, and he's eager to bounce back with a big season. Suh took the NFL a bit by storm as a rookie in 2010, finishing the season with 10 sacks and anchoring a Detroit defensive line that looked like it had the potential to be among the league's best. Last year, he had only four sacks, and he made as much news for his style of play as for his production. Suh requested a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss his play after he drew several penalties and fines. Then on Thanksgiving, he stomped at Green Bay offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith and was suspended for two games. Now Suh is talking about a renewed focus.

Shockey rips Goodell on Twitter

Never afraid to sound off on just about anything, free agent TE Jeremy Shockey took to Twitter to take the NFL commissioner to task on player health concerns.

Jeremy Shockey rips Roger Goodell in Twitter rant about health of NFL players

As the issue of concussions and head injuries in the NFL becomes more prevalent, so too do the discussions about it on Twitter. On Sunday night, Jeremy Shockey decided to get in on the act by preaching about the negative effects playing football has on the health of players. He is not the first player to do this and won’t be the last, but what was particularly interesting about...

Jeremy Shockey: Goodell ‘lied to every player’

Yeah, so maybe there are better ways to go about getting a job in the NFL. Jeremy Shockey, the free agent tight end, is probably to stick with that title for a while. On Sunday night, Shockey went on a brief TwitteRant against commissioner Roger Goodell, claiming (though not very coherently) he “lied to every player” regarding concussions. The no it all Rog goodell lied to every...

Free Agent TE Jeremy Shockey Claims Roger Goodell Lied About Concussions

Roger Goodell had Jeremy Shockey's back when it came to claims the controversial tight end was the snitch that launched the Saints' Bounty scandal. Shockey, however, isn't returning the favor when it comes to concussions after the free agent tight end blasted the NFL commissioner in a series of Sunday night tweets. "The no it all Rog goodell lied to every player...

Jeremy Shockey says Roger Goodell lied to players about concussions

Late Sunday night, free agent tight end Jeremy Shockey tweeted a link to LZ Granderson’s moving piece about Junior Seau. Presumably having read the piece, Shockey then proceeded to give his reaction to it. Shockey starts off his series of tweets by first tweeting, “its sad but the truth!!” Then, he turns his attention to the NFL’s and Roger Goodell’s handling of the concussion...

Preseason's Predicament: The Proposal for International Football

I hate summer.   Hear me out. Baseball is fine and the Summer Olympics are keeping my interests, but I really miss fall and winter sports. I watched reruns of games I knew the ending to. I have picked my fantasy lineup. I have been keeping up with offseason news in anticipation for the season to arrive. Unfortunately, I’m a Saints fan. It’s been a rough summer. So to...
