SOUTHLAKE, Texas -- During a local radio interview in February, Cowboys defensive end Jason Hatcher was asked who the leaders were on the Cowboys roster.
Hatcher struggled to give an answer before replying, "That's a good question. I really don't know."
Hatcher, who was a guest on The Ben and Skin Show on 103.3 KESN-FM, went on to say the Cowboys lacked a vocal leader like the Baltimore Ravens have in linebacker Ray Lewis.
On Wednesday, Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was asked if the Cowboys need more vocal leaders.
"I don't think so," Witten said after an autograph signing at a Dunkin' Donuts in Southlake. "I don't want to speak for anybody but we've got plenty of leaders. We've been in situations where there's been more player-only meetings. The bottom line is that we've got to go and play better and win ballgames and find ways to do that. I think you do that by sticking together. I think you do that when you have a ...

The year 1973 was not a great one in Dallas Cowboys history, but it is notable for a few reasons.
It was the last time that the old guard from the late 1960s reached the playoffs. That team still featured the likes of Bob Lilly, Bob Hayes, Walt Garrison, Calvin Hill, and Cornell Green.
Some new blood had arrived at that point, most notably in the form of rookie wide receiver Drew...
The long wait came to end last night as the NFL released the 2012 NFL schedule. So many fans could not wait to look at their teams schedules to see who they played first, did they have any primetime game, were they home or away for more than two weeks in a row, when were the division games being played. Then I’m sure most fans like me went down the schedule one game at time thinking...
According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, the Dallas Cowboys met with Stanford guard David DeCastro recently after his first visit was canceled.
Just a few days ago, we mentioned a report that indicated the Cowboys could end up trading down in the first round of next week’s draft in order to take DeCastro who would help them continue to solidify their offensive line.
Jason Witten is excited about the prospects of opening the season on the road against the rival New York Giants.
There wasn’t much of an offseason in the NFL last season due to the lockout. The lockout affected some players but not all as there wasn’t too much of a dropoff in play.
Dallas Cowboys receiver Miles Austin was one of the players the lockout hurt. After coming out of nowhere and piling up back to back 1,000 yard seasons, Austin experienced a decline in production because he...
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin told MensHealth.com that he wasn’t prepared to play last season after the offseason lockout and he plans on preparing a lot differently this offseason.
“I feel like last year I wasn’t prepared for the season the way I should’ve been condition-wise, even though I looked and felt it at the time,” Austin said. “That’s one thing...
The NFL announced the 2012 schedule Tuesday, and at least five national television appearances highlight the Dallas Cowboys upcoming season, including the season opener in New York on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
And here we figured women wanted the husband/BF around 24/7 after the birth of a child to do chores like changing deuce diapers and make lunch. Pfft, not if you’re Tony Romo. Remember how his wife gave birth a week ago Monday? It was Candice Crawford’s first baby. We figure there is like a two-week period where it’s like baby vacation. Just sit around and stare at the kid...
