At least one member of the Dallas Cowboys will be going to the Super Bowl, and it's for all the right reasons. Cowboys tight end Jason Witten won the 2013 Bart Starr Award, given annually to one NFL player for outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community. Witten will be honored at the 26th Annual Super Bowl Breakfast, an NFL-sanctioned event hosted by Athletes in Action, on Feb. 1 in New Orleans. Witten was chosen over fellow finalists Matt Hasselbeck of the Tennessee Titans and Justin Tuck of the New York Giants. Witten, a 10-year veteran, has been involved in a number of charitable projects, including Jason Witten's SCORE Foundation and the SCOREkeepers program, which places trained male mentors in battered women's shelters to demonstrate positive male behavior and break the cycle of domestic violence. Witten has also participated in the Children's Cancer Fund Fashion Show, NFL Play 60, Boys and Girls Club of America, Make-a-Wish Foundation and other projects. The Bart Starr Award is chosen by a vote of NFL players and is named after the Hall of Fame quarterback of the Lombardi-era Green Bay Packers. Past winners include native Texans LaDainian Tomlinson, Drew Brees and Mike Singletary, as well as Reggie White, London Fletcher, and Kurt Warner. Follow Keith Whitmire on Twitter: @Keith_Whitmire
