Coach Whisenhunt stated that there’s a very “slim” chance that Early Doucet will play against the Titans on Monday night. Doucet is recovering from an abdominal strain and will sit out only as a precaution.
“I would rather be conservative with Early and give him a chance to play the last preseason game [against Redskins on Sept. 2] and let him prepare for the season,” Whisenhunt said. “I know how Early will push himself and he’ll go out there and play with pain. That’s our job as coaches and trainers to make sure he’s available for the games that count.”
