The Chicago Bears are signing Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl alternate free agent wide receiver and special-teams ace Eric Weems to a three-year contract, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Weems, 26, caught 11 passes for 90 yards last season. The 5-foot-9, 195-pounder is a strong special-teams contributor in kick coverage and as a return specialist. Last season, Weems returned 24 kicks for 563 yards and 32 punts for 315 yards and recorded 12 tackles on special teams. The former Bethune-Cookman standout was selected as a first-team alternate for the Pro bowl as a special teams player.
