Your Guaranteed Money Won't Save You

Newer readers -- and not just Tommy's guys, but also the folks we picked up last season -- might not understand all the Tony Hunt jokes on this site.  Those are at my expense. I have a soft spot for PSU players anyway, but Hunt really was one of the guys I most enjoyed rooting for over the last few years.  I was more than a little excited when we drafted him a few years ago, and kept waiting (and waiting...) for the light to come on while he was here. Of course, as much as I liked Tony Hunt the player, I really liked "Tony Hunt" the type.  After years of watching us close out games by passing and passing some more, or plunging our one irreplaceable weapon headlong into the line, I loved the idea of Hunt as a fourth-quarter closer who would punish a softened-up defense. Which is why I like Mike Bell.  When we faced him last year, early in the season before he got dinged up, he might have been the hardest runner in the league. ...
