Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is looking to elevate his level of play this season. “I think I can make a big jump,” Ertz told the Philadelphia Daily News, via ESPN.com. “I mean, I’m not a predictions guy. At the end of the day, all I really care about are the wins. But at the beginning of the year, I kind of started off slow. As the season went on, I think the numbers and the plays started to pick up, and hopefully it’s more of the same.” Ertz had 36 receptions for 469 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie. Ertz feels much more comfortable this year as he prepares for his second season. “It was such a mystery last year at this time in that I really didn’t know what was going to be going on,” Ertz told the Philadelphia Daily News. “And now, I’m kind of like a vet in the system and I know what to expect every day. I’m in the same routine, which is just focusing on getting better every day.” Ertz is excited to see

Mark Sanchez says he's entering 'prime of his career' with Eagles

Mark Sanchez has gone from Rex Ryan, who barely knew a quarterback from a defensive back, to Chip Kelly, master of offensive matriculation. To say the veteran signal-caller likes the change in scenery would be underselling it. "I love being here. This is the best place I could have landed," Sanchez said Thursday, via Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday. Though Sanchez is...

Matt Barkley Has Perfect Response For UCLA Fan Trolling Him On Twitter

The story begins here: A UCLA fan on Twitter saw 50 Cent’s horrible first pitch at the Mets game on Tuesday night and decided to use it as an excuse to troll former USC quarterback Matt Barkley, who now plays for the Eagles: This reminds me of @MattBarkley trying to throw a football. https://t.co/JWaKtaDVtq — Bruin Country™ (@UCLA_Nation) May 27, 2014 Barkley saw the dig,...

2014 Fantasy Football Team Preview: Philadelphia Eagles

USATSI Fantasy Stars: Nick Foles: One could argue Foles was the key reason the Eagles made the playoffs last season with his emergence in the wake of Vick’s injury. He had a phenominal year coming through for so many fantasy owners that took a flier on him on the waiver wire. Don’t expect to see him on the waiver wire anymore. He’s definitely a top 8 fantasy QB in my book and...

Mark Sanchez believes he's 'just entering the prime of my career'

It's kind of difficult to think about Mark Sanchez on any team other than the Jets. But he's a member of the Eagles now and he's determined to make the most of it. Despite the presence of Nick Foles as Philly's starter and Matt Barkley with a year under his belt, Sanchez thinks he can make a difference. He also said he's "just entering" the "prime...

Will the Philadelphia Eagles use their dime package more in 2014?

The Philadelphia Eagles were in their dime package sparingly last season, and that could increase in 2014 based on a number of the Eagles’ offseason moves. For those who may need a refresher, a dime package usually consists of 4 down lineman, 1 linebacker, and 6 defensive backs. It is typically used in passing situations when an offense has 3-4 quality receivers and running backs...

Mark Sanchez believes he is in the prime of his career

After being released from the New York Jets this offseason, Mark Sanchez was looking for a fresh start. After missing all of last season due to a shoulder injury...

Philadelphia Eages: Mark Sanchez says “I’m Just Entering the Prime of My Career”

Despite leading the New York Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship Games in 2009 and 2010, Mark Sanchez never really put up big numbers as a starting quarterback. His best season came in 2011 when he threw for 26 touchdowns, but he’s never been considered one of the top signal callers in the league. If you asked Sanchez why that is, he’d tell you it’s because he’s” just...

How does the 2014 off-season impact the defensive starting lineup?

The Philadelphia Eagles solved a lot of issues quicker than many fans and pundits expected in 2013. In going from 4-12 to 10-6, they found answers at a number of positions that had very recently been problematic. That said, the Eagles were one of the healthiest teams in football and still managed to be easily exposed when players like Bradley Fletcher and Earl Wolff missed time with...

Kelly happy to have Maclin at full go

All Jeremy Maclin could do was watch, wait and work. But he couldn’t play. For an ultra-competitive player such as Maclin, it was quite difficult. After suffering a torn ACL in training camp last year, Maclin was unable to be part of the new-look Philadelphia Eagles, who finished 10-6 and captured an NFC East title under coach Chip Kelly. Fast forward nearly a year and the...
