What looked like a second chance for a young receiver has ended.
According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, the Browns are putting wide receiver Armanti Edwards on season-ending injured reserve because of an ankle injury suffered Sunday.
Edwards, who was declared the training camp MVP by the Panthers before being released midseason, got some work with the Browns as a returner.
The Browns placed punt returner Armanti Edwards on injured reserve with an ankle injury and promoted wide receiver Josh Cooper to their active roster.
Edwards got hurt in Sunday's loss at Cincinnati. He returned two punts for 14 yards and had one carry for no gain before getting injured. Edwards played in two games for Cleveland after being signed on Oct. 30.

The Panthers used their 2010 third-round draft pick on Edwards, who played quarterback at Appalachian State. Since then, Edwards has five catches in 39 career games. Edwards, 25, has only has only played 41 snaps this season for a Panthers team who is in desperate need...
