Hanie headed to Denver to backup Manning
Former Chicago Bears backup quarterback, Caleb Hanie, has agreed to a 2-year deal with the Denver Broncos. This coming after a season with the Bears where he completed just 50% of his passes for 613 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions for a quarterback rating of 41.8. These numbers coming after Jay Cutler was injured [...]

Caleb Hanie agrees to terms on two-year deal with the Denver Broncos
Two years ago, Caleb Hanie was the third-string quarterback that came into the NFC Championship Game for an injured Jay Cutler and a bad Todd Collins. Last year, he was an oftentimes ineffective backup benched after four starts in relief of an injured Jay Cutler.
Now, he's agreed to be a backup quarterback to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos for the next two seasons.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal hadn't been announced by the team. ESPNChicago.com first reported the deal earlier Saturday.

3 free agents the Chicago Bears should pursue
The Chicago Bears finished the 2011 season at a mediocre 8-8. Chicago’s record was the result of key injuries to quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte. The Bears were 7-3 before Cutler’s injury and ended the season with a 1-5 record in his absence. Cutler’s return in 2012 will again make the Bears contenders in the NFC North but if Chicago wants to be a serious...

Bears still have Caleb Hanie’s back
A little more than three weeks ago, after a fifth consecutive victory, the Bears were one of the NFL’s hottest teams. That high was fleeting as news of Jay Cutler’s broken thumb was revealed piece by piece. Three losses later, the Bears have gone from playoff insider to outsider, yet they’ve avoided one of the usual precursors to a team’s Âimplosion: the fracturing of the...

Hanie avoids mistakes, not ‘L’
DENVER — The Bears finally found an effective formula for Caleb Hanie, but even that wasn’t enough. Backed by a running attack that gained 159 yards on 38 carries, Hanie was given a modest workload Sunday against the Denver Broncos. He was 12-for-19 for 115 yards and no touchdowns, but he also avoided the mistakes that doomed the Bears in losses to the Oakland Raiders and Kansas...

Caleb Hanie just isn’t cutting it for the Chicago Bears
I know, 26-year old Caleb Hanie has only started two games and it’s a small sample size, but the Bears are in the playoff hunt and they can’t afford to carry him at QB…especially due to Matt Forte’s injury yesterday. Hanie has played in 4 games (2 starts) for the Bears so far this year and he has completed 29 of 60 passes (48.3%) for 387 yards with 2 TD...

Expect Hanie To Bounce Back On Sunday Against Kansas City
Despite posting a passer rating of 56.9 and throwing three interceptions, Bears fourth-year quarterback Caleb Hanie showed resilience in his first NFL start.
Getting his first start on the road in a tough place like Oakland, no one expected it to be smooth sailing for Hanie.
Hanie tossed three first half interceptions and shook of some rust and inexperience that loomed over him...
