So far this offseason the Seahawks have seen a number of players sign with new teams. The biggest losses have been on the defensive line. Red Bryant and Chris Clemons have signed with the Jacksonville Seaguars, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers poached defensive tackle Clinton McDonald.
That last item is in my opinion the hardest blow to the Super bowl champions. Bryant and Clemons will...
This is very similar to the deal that the Buccaneers gave Clinton McDonald. Like McDonald, Tony McDaniel was a little thought of defensive tackle before this season, playing 590 snaps in 2011 and 2012 combined, but broke out this season with the Seahawks (though McDaniel came from Miami, while McDonald moved up Seattle’s depth chart). McDaniel is a couple of years older, but I...
Clinton McDonald was a 7th round pick in 2009 and played just 794 snaps in his career before this season. He was actually cut by the Seahawks in final cuts and re-signed in mid-September. Given that, it might seem weird that McDonald is getting a 12 million dollar deal over 4 years from the Buccaneers now here in March, but McDonald had a very solid season as one of the cogs on a...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have scored a high grade in my book for week one of free agency.
A solid B+ after big pick ups to bolster their defense, including the front line with former Cincinnati Bengal Michael Johnson, beefy defensive tackle Clinton McDonald coming over from the Super Bowl champion Seahawks. Linebackers got some help with the signing of former New England Patriot...
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Buccaneers have signed former Seahawks DT Clinton McDonald to a four-year contract worth $12 million.
McDonald, 27, should provide the Buccaneers another pass rusher next to DT Gerald McCoy and DE Michael Johnson.
We had McDonald listed as the No. 36 free agent in our Top 100 Free Agents List.
Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Clinton McDonald's face mask was bent out of shape during Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
Schwartz and Feinsod reports that the Seattle Seahawks have re-signed DT Clinton McDonald.
Earlier in the week, the Seahawks brought in a number of free agent defensive tackles for workouts now that Brandon Mebane and Tony McDaniel are dealing with injuries. McDonald’s familiarity with the Seahawks defensive scheme most likely gave him the edge over the other players.
According to Isn Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Seahawks have signed free agent defensive tackle Clinton McDonald.
The #Seahawks worked out/looked at a bunch of DTs over the past weeks. Agreed to terms with Clinton McDonald today, per @schwartzfeinsod

Seattle had tendered a one-year qualifying offer to McDonald, who chose to sign and return as Seattle's backup nose tackle.
