The New York Giants were looking to add to their lead over the St. Louis Rams late in the fourth quarter Sunday, but Daren Bates had other plans.
The second-year linebacker saw a chance to block a 29-yard field goal attempt by Josh Brown, and he jumped at the opportunity. Literally.
Bates cleared the Giants’ line with one leap and blocked the kick easily.

Troy Polamalu is a tremendous football player. If young players are looking for someone to emulate they could certainly do a lot worse than him.
