Patriots re-sign DL Warren, cut Underwood (again)

Receiver Tiquan Underwood, best known for a high-top fade haircut and for being released on the night before the Super Bowl, has been cut again by the New England Patriots. The Patriots let him go on Thursday to make room for defensive lineman Gerard Warren. Warren has spent the last two seasons with the Patriots. Underwood played in five games for New England in 2011 and caught...

Patriots Reportedly Agree to Terms with Big Money

One of my favorite players and one of Bill Belichick’s most trusted veterans Gerard “Big Money” Warren is returning to Foxboro in 2012. Warren, who is entering his 12th NFL season out of the University of Florida, can play both defensive tackle and defensive end. He was originally the first round draft pick of the Cleveland Brown (3rd overall) in the 2001 NFL Draft. This...

Patriots likely to re-sign DT Warren

Gerard Warren is expected to re-sign with the Patriots this week, according to NFL Network. Warren signed a one-year deal in August 2011, but was released in the final roster cutdown in September. He re-signed days later, and coach Bill Belichick said the two sides agreed to a deal that was likely built around a smaller base salary and more incentives for production. Warren...

New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick always talks about how the many ways to build an NFL team. Patriots veterans Gerard Warren and Shaun Ellis waited a loooooooong time to reach ther Super Bowl

Gerard Warren has played in the NFL for 11 years. Shaun Ellis has been in the league 12 years. And neither has played in a Super Bowl… until now. And that’s pretty cool. Two grizzled veterans have finished their careers in New England, and now they get to play in a Super Bowl. Earlier in the week, they reflected. “That’s the reason why I came here,” Warren...

Patriots DL Gerard Warren says “Football is my life” … then talks about his high school waterboy

It is tough to be more popular on the post-game, handshake and backslap circuit than Patriots DL Gerard Warren. He knows everyone. I asked how many he has come across in his time at Florida and then in his 11 years in the NFL. “Too many to count,” Warren said. In fact, Warren embraces every part of the game. I asked the 33-year-old when he wants to retire and he said...

Gerard Warren Inactive for Patriots in Sunday's Game Against Redskins

LANDOVER, Md. -- Defensive lineman Gerard Warren is surprisingly inactive for the first time in his two seasons with the Patriots. Warren, who has played well, was a healthy scratch. Based on the way Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has jockeyed his depth chart over the last month, this could be an opportunity to give Ron Brace some more reps. Quarterback Ryan Mallett is also inactive...
