LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) The Chicago Bears have signed long snapper Jeremy Cain to replace the retired Patrick Mannelly.
Cain played for the Bears from 2004-05, seeing time on special teams and as a backup linebacker, and served as the long snapper for the final two games last year. He has also played for Tennessee and Jacksonville.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune has spoken to two different sources who have mentioned the Bears are expected to sign LS Jeremy Cain to a contract.

Cain, 33, has played in 83 games in his eight-year NFL career, which has spanned stops with the Chicago Bears (2004-2005, 2013), Tennessee Titans (2007) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2009-2012). A former linebacker at Massachusetts, the native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has 21 tackles as a pro.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed LS Jeremy Cain to a contract on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions release.
