Colbert Says Sylvester Will Compete With Foote For Buck LB Spot
I posted the other day about the questions at the BUCK linebacker spot now that James Farrior has been released, and how Larry Foote would be the obvious choice to succeed Farrior initially. Stevenson Sylvester, who I really think is better suited for the MACK linebacker position based on his limited playing time the last two seasons, will apparently get a shot to compete against...

Why Larry Foote wasn’t/won’t be Cut
When James Farrior was given his walking papers many fans believed fellow inside linebacker Larry Foote may be next. However, over a week later and Foote remains a Steeler and looks to be safe heading towards the 2012 season. During the 2011 season Foote served as the number one back-up to inside li Continue

The Samurai and Larry
With the parting of ways with James Farrior, inside linebacker becomes a position of keen interest. Larry Foote is the obvious choice of the moment to step into the shoes of the departed Potsie. Larry is one of those guys you can’t dismiss because he’s a gamer, one who’s “game brains” or understanding of [...]

Middle Linebacker perhaps not such an immediate need for Steelers?
There are two draft picks that everyone seems to have the Steelers interested in since the combine, if not before. Dontari Poe appears to get further and further out of sight by the day with many experts saying he’s a top 15 pick by now. The more realistic name is Dont’a Hightower, LB out of Alabama. Of course you can still make a case for an offensive lineman in round...

Steelers 2012 Team Needs: Inside Linebacker
The final installment of the Steelers 2012 Team Needs is Inside Linebacker. It may seem like a back door need as of right now but when it comes to Salary Cap crunch time it may become a front line need. The Steelers are anywhere from $22-$27 million over the cap depending upon who you talk to and have to be below the salary cap by the start of the new league year.
Two players...

Woodley out Sunday, Foote becomes leader
Lots of Steelers news on this first day of November. First, the bad news...-B- Steelers OLB LaMarr Woodley is expected to miss Sunday's game against Baltimore with a hamstring injury, sources tell the Post-Gazette. Even worse: he is likely to miss the following game against the Bengals. The Steelers will be without both of their elite pass rushers in Woodley and Harrison for...

Steelers Should Bench Foote and Farrior vs Patriots, Put Polamalu and Timmons at ILB.
The Steelers have the Patriots coming up on Sunday whose offensive happens to Steeler kryptonite. Simply, Belichek and Brady have our number. They eat us alive every time we see them on the field, and we have no answer to what they do on offense.
I have a plan on what I think might work.
I would put James Farrior and Larry Foote on the bench. Both guys struggle against the...
