LYNN SWANN RUMORS & GOSSIP

Remembering Back To When Lynn Swann Was Five Seconds Away From The Cowboys Drafting Him

You've probably already heard the story about how former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Lynn Swann was five seconds away from being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 1974 NFL Draft. If not, the NFL Network did an excellent job of telling that story during the Wednesday night episode of 'Caught […] Remembering Back To When Lynn Swann Was Five Seconds...

NFL Celebration Rules Border on Ridiculous

The National Football League announced this week that officials at all training camp sites are stressing new rules to the players. These rules, which are also presented to the players in a video, are aimed at curbing celebrations by players and their teammates on scoring or other big plays. Things now banned by the NFL include but are not limited to, sack dances, home run swings...

Let Me Clear My Throat: Wide Receivers Belong in the Hall

So, what’s the deal with the NFL not wanting to put any wide receivers in the hall of fame? What is it really? There’s about 10 wide receivers in the past 20 years that should be in the H.O.F. that I can name, so I’m sure a much older football fan can add a few missing names to my list. What’s the official criterion for a receiver? Long, one team, really productive careers...

Hall Of Famers Not Worthy Of Enshrinement

In reference to certain borderline Hall of Fame-caliber players, it’s often said that they belong in the “Hall of Very Good” rather than the Hall of Fame.I hate to say it, but I believe this is the case for the six players I have listed below no particular order. I mean no disrespect to these players. They were all very good in their own right.Interestingly, none of the players...

Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame wide receiver Lynn Swann took to Facebook to give Steeler Nation his thoughts on the release of wide receiver Hines Ward after 14 years with the team. Roethlisberger Should Prepare For Haley, Fire & Brimstone

The great Lynn Swann said it best this past week when he was asked about Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his statement made at the Pro Bowl that he was going to sit down with Art Rooney II to find out which direction the offense was going to go now. Swann said," The last time I checked, he was a paid employee of the team." He later followed that up...

Would anyone really remember who Dwight Clark was had it not been for “The Catch?” Big plays in big moments have the ability, not only to define that game, but for those who have done it in the Super Bowl, one single play can define a career. Here is my list for the most memorable plays in Super Bowl history. #5 – Lynn Swann’s Acrobatic Reception – Super Bowl X In one...

Heath Miller Passes Lynn Swann for Fourth All Time on Steelers Receptions List

Steelers Tight End Heath Miller made 2 catches today for 23 yards as the Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns.  Those two catches gave Miller 337 for his career.  That pushed him one past Hall Of Famer Lynn Swann on the Steelers all time list.  Heading into next season Miller is only 21 catches behind Louis Lipps to become third on the list.  He should easily pass that mark next season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a rich history of dedicated fans, exceptional coaches and talented players. The Steelers already have two Hall of Fame wide receivers in Lynn Swann and John Stallworth.
