Stop calling it the Eagles "Wide 9"...
Yes, there was a morning OTA practice on Wednesday, but it was pretty much closed to media, so we didn't get our Twitter relays from Kenny and Boner. Livefyre "radio" lines were acting a little goofy, too, and Twitter is basically on the same network servers, so who knows, maybe Geoff Mosher and Les Bowen were trying to get through to us but couldn't...?Personnel...

Philadelphia Eagles: Is Jaiquawn Jarrett the 3rd Wheel at Safety?
Philadelphia Eagles second-year safety Jaiquawn Jarrett has to prove himself on the field this year. In order to fight his way into a starting role, he also may be faced with the task of overcoming a strong bond that is forging between Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman.
If the catch-phrase for the 2012 Philadelphia Eagles is “team chemistry”, that’s exactly what may...

Andy Reid names Nate Allen and Kurt Coleman as the Eagles’ starting safeties
Along with linebacker, safety was a large and publicly shamed part of the Eagles’ defensive struggles last year as they went 8-8 and missed the playoffs in a season where most projected them to win 12, 13, or even 14 games. They addressed the linebacker position both through the draft and through trade this offseason, but have not added a safety to the mix, instead opting to hope...

Eagles endorse young safeties Allen, Jarrett
Many observers felt the Eagles' two biggest needs going into the draft were outside linebacker and safety. They addressed the first one early on in the draft, selecting speedy Mychael Kendricks of Cal, a three-down linebacker who will move to the head of the depth-chart line at SAM. But they didn't take a safety with any of their nine picks. They did sign one after the...

Philadelphia Eagles: LaRon Landry Visiting Philly Today
According to PhiladelphiaEagles live, free agent safety LaRon Landry is visiting with the Eagles today.
Safety has been a position with some question marks heading into this offseason. Nate Allen will assuredly return to fill the free safety position but the strong safety position is open for competition.
Kurt Coleman and last year’s second-round pick Jaiqauwn Jarrett are...

Is Nate Allen The Eagles Answer At Safety?
Nate Allen will forever be linked to former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Donovan McNabb. When the Eagles shipped McNabb to the division rival Washington Redskins, they got their second round pick (37th overall). With their 2010 first round pick (13th), the Eagles passed on the obvious choice, Texas safety Earl Thomas, and went with a pass rushing defensive end, Michigan’s...

Philadelphia Eagles 2012 Draft Concern: Upgrade The Safety Position
The Philadelphia Eagles will never admit that the non-resigning (over two years ago) of former safety, Brian Dawkins, was a definite blow to their overall defense. Curiously, the Eagles have drafted safeties in the second round, two years in a row.
I have written about Nate Allen before and the articles are scathing. A high second round pick (37th pick, 2010) in the...

Eagles Nate Allen Cannot Play In This League
I have written about Nate Allen before and the articles are scathing. A high second round pick in the NFL draft should be a starter in the NFL. The Eagles thought they had that when they drafted Nate Allen out of South Florida. Allen graded well with most scouts.
The Eagles elected to move up and take Brandon Graham with the 14th overall pick in the 2010 draft (passing on Texas...

Philadelphia Eagles: Secondary Will Face ‘Big’ Challenge vs. Cowboys Receivers
The Philadelphia Eagles’ secondary will have their toughest test of the 2011 season against the Dallas Cowboys’ receivers in their Week 8 contest. This will be one of many key match-ups of the game and how they fare will likely coincide with either a win or a loss.
Miles Austin at 6′ 2″, 215 lbs, and Dez Bryant at 6′ 2″, 218 lbs, are easily the...
