Raiders reinstate McClain, cut Bartell, Schmitt
The Oakland Raiders have reinstated linebacker Rolando McClain from the suspended list and promoted cornerback Chimdi Chekwa from the practice squad.
The Raiders released starting cornerback Ron Bartell and backup fullback Owen Schmitt on Monday to make room on the 53-man roster.
McClain had been suspended for two games on Nov. 30 for conduct detrimental to the team after a practice...

Oakland Raiders sign OL Howell, release FB Robinson
The Oakland Raiders have signed offensive lineman Nick Howell and released fullback Tre'Shawn Robinson to make room for the signing. Howell is expected to provide depth during training camp with little chance to make the final roster.
Howell was signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent after the 2010 NFL Draft. The 6-5, 300 pound offensive tackle out of USC...
