Ex-Falcon Ray Edwards claims boxing safer than football
Ray Edwards made news this week but once again it had nothing to do with his one-time ability to play professional football.
First, in early November, the Falcons cut the erstwhile defensive end for a poor attitude more so than they did poor performance. Then he made news again in February when a video surfaced of his doughy-looking opponent taking a dive during a boxing match....

Former NFL defensive end Ray Edwards, who is currently pursuing a career in the sweet science, recently stated that he believes boxing is safer than football.
Thai boxing knockout looks incredible, probably fake (VIDEO)
Thai boxing is a vicious blood sport, but like any individual athletic event, is prone to corruption from outside influences. Which is why I’m skeptical about this amazing knockout. Sure the punchee is getting dominated, barely even putting up any kind of defense while getting whaled on , but the way his feet kick out on the knockout punch is extremely suspect.
That being said...
Ray Edwards: NFL ‘100 percent injury-prone’

Former Falcons DE: Heavyweight boxing is safer than pro football
Noted medical expert Ray Edwards, via this article on Yahoo!, has finally chimed in on the debate over which sport is safer: prizefighting or bear wrestling thresher chicken Russian roulette pro football. Edwards is one of a rare few that have found any sort of success in the pro ranks of both sports (and that level in boxing is pretty nebulous after only 4 fights but he is 4-0)...
Former Falcons Turned Boxer Ray Edwards: “If You Want Some, Come Get Some”
Edwards was never the same after dating stripper LaStarya. He decided to be become a boxing and was involved in a fight that had the most ridiculous dive you have ever seen.
Edwards talked that match as well about people who he believes have it out for him. Quotes courtesy of Deadspin.
What happened in his last fight:
“There’s nothing I can do about it. The guy I was originally...
Former Falcons DE Ray Edwards Boxing Opponent Suspended For Taking A Dive
As we reported a few days ago, former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards is now boxing and taking fights where ever he can get them.
Edwards recently had a fight in barn located somewhere in North Dakota. Edwards won that fight, but only after his opponent took a dive, and was dropped by the worst phantom punch in boxing history.
The Associated Press is reporting that Edwards...

NFLer 'earns' knockout in boxing match
The NFL career of former Vikings and Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards might be over after Atlanta released Edwards in November on account of being a surly, unproductive locker room cancer unwilling to attend team meetings. If his NFL career is over, he had a fairly respectable one. He played for seven seasons, posting eight or more sacks in two of them. All in all, could be worse...
Ray Edwards is now boxing, knocked a guy out without actually hitting him (Video)
Former NFL defensive end Ray Edwards looks like he’s taken up a career in boxing.
In the video above Edwards knocks a man out without even touching him. The other guy was clearly scared and decided to flop down. I don’t blame him since he’s obviously a lot smaller.

Ray Edwards and GF's portrait is provocative
Atlanta Falcons DE Ray Edwards recently revealed his desire to start a modeling career. I’m assuming that’s the desire of his girlfriend LaStarya too. All the info on her mentions she’s an ex-stripper. So I assume being an urban model was/is in the mix as well. The couple did a photo shoot a few months ago for Urban ink magazine and someone decided to turn one of those photos...
