Saints’ Roman Harper understands why the team drated Kenny Vaccaro
This upcoming NFL season will be Roman Harper’s 8th of his career. Couple that with the fact that the Saints gave up a NFL record high 7,042 yards last season it came as no surprise when the team drafted safety Kenny Vaccaro in the first round this year. Apparently, it wasn’t a surprise to Harper either. In fact, Harper “welcomes” the competition.
Of course (I welcome the...
Saints Nation: Time for Saints to Start Anew at Safety
I've been done with the Malcolm Jenkins/Roman Harper back end experiment for a while and I've made no secret of this. I blame them as much as anyone for how pathetically horrible the Saints were on defense last year. Further, I blame those two players most specifically for the last two postseason exits. Of 88 qualifying graded safeties last year on Pro Football Focus, Harper...
The New Orleans Saints bolster the middle of their secondary add S Kenny Vaccaro
The New Orleans Saints overhaul the back-end of their defense by selecting with the 15th overall pick Kenny Vaccaro the star safety out of Texas. He is an excellent tackler with strong closing speed that head coach Sean Payton loves . One of the best all-around athletes at the position and has the game tape to prove it. Vaccaro, who ran a 4.63 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine...

Harper: Fine for hitting Smith was worth it
Saints safety Roman Harper says he does not regret a late hit on Carolina receiver Steve Smith that drew a $15,000 fine from the NFL this week.
Harper says the fine was worth it and that his decision to shove Smith as the receiver slowly crossed the goal line last Sunday was good for his team and got his point across.
Harper had said after Sunday's 30-27 Saints victory that...

Video: Steve Smith TD, Roman Harper Cheap Shot & Mini Brawl Saints vs. Panthers
Steve Smith is not the guy you want to get into a fight with regardless of your size.
Smith is only 5’9″ but he has laid out teammates and opponents with straight right hands. Great play by Cameron avoiding the rush, better catch by Steve Smith and then the cheap shot by Roman Harper.
The mini Brawl starts and Steve Smith punks Michael Jenkins.
Good times had by all.

Saints, Panthers brawl over late hit
The Cam Newton to Steve Smith connection in Carolina continues to be in good standing. Check out the below video of a 1st quarter TD pass from Cam to Steve Smith which could be their best yet this season. The 5 foot 9 Smith snagged this one out of the air over a defender for a pretty amazing 6 points and 54 yards. Roman Harper came in late with a cheap shot which Steve took exception...
