Chiefs defense wins day during offseason workouts
The Kansas City Chiefs defense has lived by the bend-but-don't-break mantra the past few years under Romeo Crennel. Well, that's out the window now.
New defensive coordinator Bob Sutton would prefer to attack from the word, ''Hike,'' and during the first week of organized team activities, his players have taken quite the shine to it.
The Chiefs only intercepted...

NFL Draft Wishlist: Kansas City Chiefs
A long and painful season has come to an end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Aside from the tragedy of losing a player to a senseless act, the Chiefs turned in an awful performance from start to finish that lead to the firing of Head Coach Romeo Crennel and subsequent resignation of G.M. Scott Pioli. On the bright side, the [...]
Romeo Crennel fired: Was this his last shot at being a HC?
The Kansas City Chiefs fired Romeo Crennel after just 1 season under the mic and this is Crennel’s second head coaching job where he was relieved of his duty. The first was with the Cleveland Browns and one can only wonder if Crennel can find another position as a head coach again. However Crennel will definitely gain heat as a defensive coordinator in the NFL and the first...

Details emerging: Javon Belcher may have killed self in front of Romeo Crennel and Scott Pioli
We now know the name of the Kansas City Chiefs player who killed his girlfiend and then himself, as his family must have been notified. LB Jovan Belcher apparently killed his girlfriend at an area home, then drove to the Chiefs practice facility, where he shot and killed himself. If reports are true, he may have committed suicide right in front of the head coach and GM.
Crennel defends his conservative philosophy
KANSAS CITY, Mo. Four times on Sunday the Chiefs were in Denver territory facing short yardage on fourth down.
Four times the Chiefs and coach Romeo Crennel opted to either kick a field goal or punt.
Not exactly the hey-we-got-nothing-to-lose approach you might expect from a team that was 1-9 and riding a seven-game losing streak coming into the game.
But Crennel defended his...

First-year coaches on the hot seat
Usually first-year head coaches are exempt from the proverbial hot seat, but this season has been anything but predictable, and it has a pair of first-year head coaches beginning to look like dead men walking. Romeo Crennel and Mike Mularkey aren't on their first head coaching jobs. Crennel led the Browns for four years from 2005 through 2008. Mularkey held the top job in Buffalo...
Romeo Crennel fires himself as defenseive coordinator of Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are 1-7 this season and are a mess on nearly all phases of football. With Crennel knowing the flaws of the defense he did what any head coach/defensive coordinator would do.
He fired himself as the defensive coordinator for a unit who had allowed 30 points per game, 29th in the NFL.
Gary Gibbs will take over as the team’s defensive coordinator. The Chiefs...
CHIEF PRIORITY
Romeo Crennel steps down
The Chiefs defense cannot stop anything this season, so head coach Romeo Crennel stepped down on Monday. Well...not from his head coaching post, but hanging up one of his other hats in the organization.
Crennel to Chiefs fans: 'hang with us'
KANSAS CITY, Mo. With his team 1-6 and facing two seemingly unwinnable games in the next two weeks at San Diego and at Pittsburgh, Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel was asked Monday what he would say to Chiefs fans at this point.
I'd say that I understand their frustrations because I'm frustrated myself, Crennel said. All of us coaches, players, general manager are all...
