With the trade for Bryan Edwards, Atlanta’s making some cuts. The Falcons have announced that they’ve released cornerback Kendall Sheffield and Ryan Becker, a pair of moves that will have fairly significant impacts on the bottom of the Falcons depth chart at their respective positions.
The Falcons have addressed the tight end position, signing Ryan Becker to compete for a spot behind Kyle Pitts. Becker has yet to play in a regular-season game after signing with the Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2020 then with the Falcons in 2021.
Atlanta adds another blocking tight end with Becker’s injury, and he’ll join a competition for the fourth tight end spot. The Falcons have lost another player competing for a roster spot to injury, signing someone new to replace him.
The Atlanta Falcons on Friday signed tight end David Wells and in a corresponding roster move, put tight end Ryan Becker on the Reserve/Injured list. A jumbo tight end at 6-6 and 260 pounds, Wells went undrafted out of San Diego State in 2018.
