Raiders sign CB Spencer for one year

The Oakland Raiders signed veteran cornerback Shawntae Spencer to a one-year deal on Monday. Spencer spent eight seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before being released last week. The 30-year-old had five tackles in nine games last season. Spencer, a second-rounder in 2004 out of Pittsburgh, recorded 42 tackles, three interceptions and one sack in 2010.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSNbayArea.com, former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Shawntae Spencer visited the Oakland Raiders on Friday, as they continue to look to upgrade their secondary after being forced to release two starters from a year ago.
