The Saints are adding veteran tight end and former New York Giant Travis Beckum to the roster.
The New Orleans Advocate is reporting that the Saints have struck a one-year deal with the 27-year-old tight end, who was with the Seahawks earlier in the offseason.
Beckum’s last NFL regular season game was with the Giants back in 2012.

According to the New Orleans Advocate, the Saints are signing veteran TE Travis Beckum to a contract on Wednesday.
Beckum will receive a one-year contract from New Orleans, according to the report.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, citing a source, reports that the Chicago Bears put free agents TE Travis Beckum and OL Thomas Austin through a workout Wednesday on the first day of camp.
Biggs wrote that while it is unclear if either will be signed, it does appear unlikely.

Beckum is a talented tight end that was never able to flourish with the Giants. Then he tore his ACL in 2011 and it’s been down hill since.
The Seahawks released TE Travis Beckum on Monday, according to the NFL transactions release.
Seattle also signed DE Cassius Marsh (fourth round) and DT Jimmy Staten (fifth round) to four-year contracts.
Beckum, 27, signed with the Seahawks back in early February, so it appears as though they prefer their other options at the tight end position as they prepare for OTAs.
