Packers waive OL Greg Van Roten

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Two seasons after Greg Van Roten joined the team as an undrafted free agent, the Green Bay Packers waived the young offensive lineman. Packers add G Van Roten to active roster

The Packers on Saturday signed guard Greg Van Roten to their active roster, from the practice squad. The transaction was announced Saturday afternoon by general manager Ted Thompson. Van Roten is a 6-foot-3, 303-pound rookie out of Penn, and he had been on Green Bay's practice squad for the season's first five weeks. Van Roten originally signed with the Packers on June 25.
