While we take a break after the disappointing conclusion of the 2011-12 Nashville Predators season, we came across an interesting fact that we thought we’d pass along. Did you know that, of the 31 players on the active roster, only Brian McGrattan, Brandon Yip and Nick Spaling (as well as black aces Chris Mueller and Kyle Wilson) have never represented their country in any kind of international competition? That got us to thinking, “how many players on the current Predators roster have represented their respective countries over the years?” But not just at the Worlds. In the World Juniors or in the Olympics as well. It turns out a staggering 84% of the roster has played in at least one international game during their hockey careers. How does that compare to o...

In Memoriam: The 2011-2012 Season of the Nashville Predators

Photo by John Russell/NHLI via Getty Images “But there is no joy in Mudville — mighty Casey has struck out.” It was a punch in the gut, a sham, a fraud and a deceitful account of what happened to the Nashville Predators. Surely it couldn’t have taken place…in 5 games…where the Predators dreams of even getting to the Western Conference finals and the eventual Stanley Cup...

Cup Contenders?

from Josh Cooper of The Tennessean, While it’s understandable that some forecasts predict an offseason of gloom and doom for the Predators — there are 15 unrestricted and restricted free agents on the current roster — with a few minor tweaks, this team can contend for the Stanley Cup next season.
