GARTH: I Love Vanek With Ennis-Gerbe

It brings a smile to my face to envision Tyler Ennis distributing the rock to Thomas Vanek. If any centre on the current Sabres roster can create scoring opps and give Vanek the puck in the high percentage scoring areas, its Ennis, whose blazing speed and 360 degree vision make him an excellent set-up man for the Austrian sniper. The name of today's game is penetration...

Game 56: Visiting Buffalo One Last Time

It’s amazing how much a week changes the feeling about your hockey team. One week ago we were entering a game against the Rangers, which we came out of with a 1-0 victory and 5 game winning streak and felt very strong about this team. We then lost in a shootout to St.Louis and didn’t feel awful about it as we got a point and let the other just slip away but coming off the performance...

Blame the parents for the Sabres problems

Vanek, Pominville, Stafford, Roy, Gaustad, and Miller are the team’s core players. It would be hard to reference the core without discussing the architect of the core, Darcy Regier, and the team’s coach, Lindy Ruff. Regier is the rare general manager in sports...

GARTH: Line Dancing

The Sabres skated at 11:30am at First Niagara Center. They will fly to Philly this afternoon. @billhoppenhl reports that Cody McCormick, Brad Boyes, and Robyn Regehr were not on the ice today.
