Santa was a little late but at least he came. The NHL lockout is over so we can all rejoice! I can’t wait to hear Doc Emrick call a game and see how flowing Barry Melrose mullet is. I can’t wait to see goalies stand on their heads and superstars score hat tricks. Most of all hockey being back means that there’s a better chance of seeing more scantily clad Instagram pictures of Paulina Gretzky so everyone is a winner there. Save all the “woh is us the fans” talk. The lockout is over so we are going to move forward.

Datsyuk goes behind the back in shootout

When Red Wings sniper Pavel Datsyuk returns to Detroit, he’ll be in midseason form after tearing up the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia the past few months.  As a parting gift, he left Russia with some sick dangles on a shootout goal from Saturday.  Whether you’re on the “Boycott the NHL” bandwagon or not, it’ll be nice to have Pavel’s handywork back in the States...

Wings' Eaves still feeling concussion symptoms

TROY, Mich. -- The NHL and the Red Wings may be ready to play soon, but Patrick Eaves will likely not be ready. Eaves, 28, has not played in a game since taking a slap shot to the side of the head on Nov. 26, 2011. Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi's shot broke Eaves' jaw but also gave him a severe concussion. Eaves' jaw has long since healed but he still is...

Watch Pavel Datsyuk Celebrate End Of The Lockout With Sexy Behind-The-Back Shootout Goal

Pavel Datsyuk is leaving his KHL stint, as Puck Daddy puts it, “in the most Pavel Datsyuk way” possible. Datsyuk played his final game with CSKA Moscow, who he has been with since September, of the KHL on Sunday and delivered an absolutely nasty behind-the-back shootout goal in CSKA’s 3-2 SO win. Watch the beauty below, and be thankful that talent like this is (FINALLY) returning stateside.

Pavel Datsyuk scores amazing shootout goal in his KHL Finale

With the NHL lockout ending today, this shootout goal will be the last goal that Pavel Datsyuk scores in the KHL, and was it an absolute beauty.  I can’t wait to see him back playing for the Detroit Red Wings, because he is utterly incredible.  There are a few details left to hammer out before the new CBA is signed, but hockey fans everywhere can rejoice, and get ready to see...

Pavel Datsyuk scored a behind-his-back shootout goal in his finale for CSKA Moscow

Detroit Red Wing alternate captain Pavel Datsyuk wrapped up his KHL tour today with this behind-his-back shootout goal for CSKA Moscow against Traktor. Behind-the-back like he shot it from... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

An amazing Datsyuk KHL shootout goal to get you ready for the NHL regular season

Yesterday you saw a Henrik Zetterberg one-handed shoot out goal for his Swiss League team EV Zug. Here we see another remarkable shoot-out goal, this time by his Red Wing teammate (I refuse to call them the Euro Twins… so lame) Pavel Datsyuk while playing for his KHL team CSKA Moscow. That goal ended up being the game winner as CSKA went on to beat Traktor 3-2. Datsyuk ended up...

Pavel Datsyuk will make you forget about the lockout

Datsyuk, Zetterberg primed for hockey

TROY, Mich. -- Don't be surprised if the Red Wings rely on Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk even more than usual when the season gets underway. That's not just because the Euro Twins, as they are sometimes known, are their best players. They are also among the players who are already in game shape from playing in Europe. Zetterberg has been playing for EV Zug in the...

Miss Those Hands?

Pavel Datsyuk will be back shortly.

All Coming Together

Not a whole lot of new news to report this morning. But we're gearing up for this short season that could start next week.  We could be watching Red Wings hockey in 7 days.  I know this has been painful.  I know that it has been frustrating.  But let's put our fan hats (made of tin foil) back on and think about not what we've lost...but what we are NOT losing...
