Toronto Maple Leaf fans are used to reading the same article every few days: Leaf fans are sheep, they don't demand a winner, and it's their fault that the team is bad. The Leaf media seem to take turns recycling the same cookie-cutter argument over and over again.
This time, one reporter may have gone too far. Last night, radio beat reporter Howard Berger wrote a bizarre and rambling blog post that called the fans "losers" and bragged about how much money he makes. While fans originally suspected his account had been hacked, the post appears to be legitimate.
Enough is enough. This morning, over a dozen Leaf bloggers are banding together to post an open letter to fans. The message: If you're sick of reading the same article over-and-over, you have a choice. It's time to start tuning out these media superstars and looking for your Leafs coverage online.
