As if we aren't sick to death of the Shane Doan rumors, Josh Cooper of The Tennessean adds fuel to the fire by reporting Nashville Predators Head Coach Barry Trotz has been speaking to Doan.“I’ve been in contact with Shane Doan almost a month now. I keep in contact with him,” Trotz said. “To be quite honest I hope everything gets resolved in Phoenix and he retires as a Phoenix Coyote, but if it doesn’t, I know Nashville is on his short list.” Prior to this admission, Doan's short list of teams left in the running were the Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Rangers.
Nashville could use the money that was meant for Ryan Suter on Shane Doan. Kidding aside, if Doan is willing to go there, Nashville could be a nice fit for him considering the history he and Trotz have together. I still want to know who the psychotic GM is that offered Doan four years and $30 million!
