Andre Deveaux of the San Antonio Rampage took a high stick to the face at 5:27 of the second period in Tuesday night’s game against the Texas Stars.  Unfortunately for him, things only got worse when he was down on the ice.  His teammate Nolan Yonkman fell on top of him and stepped on his face, opening a massive gash. Brandon Worley of SB Nation described the scene: Deveaux lay on the ice, bleeding profusely from a gash on his head and left a long trail of blood across the ice as he was immediately taken to the locker room to be attended by arena medical staff. Initial replays of the incident appeared to show that Petersen had caught Deveaux with a high stick — but a closer look revealed a much different reason for the injury. No penalty was called on the play, although the San Antonio announcers refused to initially accept that Deveaux had been cut by a skate blade and called for a four-minute minor on Petersen. The cut was definitely from the skate, as Deveaux was sent to the hosp...

Kevin Westgarth K.O.’s Eric Selleck in fight

Eric Selleck was playing his first NHL game for the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night and I’m not sure if he will remember it or not.  Selleck was given 2 minutes for instigating and a 10 minute misconduct as well as a 5 minute fighting major for going after Kevin Westgarth and it turned out to be a huge mistake.  The Carolina Hurricanes forward buried Selleck with a few quick...

Worst +/- Rating

Brian Campbell of the Florida Panthers has the worst +/- rating in the NHL.  He has a -18 rating.  He is also the ice time player in the league this season.  He has played almost 25 more minutes than Ilya Kovalchuk, who is second in ice time in the league.  These two numbers go together when you consider that Florida is the last place team in the NHL with the worst +/- rating...
